Nintendo US dates Zelda: Spirit Tracks

Christmas schedule does the talking.

Nintendo of America has announced a 7th December release date for The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.

The timing comes from a long seasonal schedule for Wii and DS issued overnight by the platform holder. Nintendo has told Eurogamer that a European equivalent will be issued in "the coming weeks".

DS game Zelda: Spirit Tracks follows the excellent strides made by Phantom Hourglass on the system last year. You can catch up with our thoughts on both Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass elsewhere on the site.

The schedule also points out that New Super Mario Bros. Wii - our game of E3 2009 - still lingers in "Holiday 2009" without a specific date. Time is running out, although Nintendo may have a glitzy announcement at the ready.

The full and exhaustive list can be found on Kotaku.

YAY!!!! Cant wait for spirit tracks.

I played NSMB Wii at pax with 3 other people though - didnt like it.

Neither NSMB on the Wii nor Zelda ST interest me at all, which is a really odd thing for me to say because normally I am the first person to get excited about a new Zelda or Mario game.

I think Zelda will be too similar to the phantom hourglass for my liking whilst the multiplayer aspect of NSMB just doesn't do it for me.

HMV seem to think this is down for the 4th December in Europe.

Very much looking forward to this. Really enjoyed Phantom Hourglass, even the Temple of the Ocean King! :oP

Can't wait for this. Zelda never fails to deliver.

US boxart revealed. Better than the US box for Phantom Hourglass.

I like the picture on someone's comment of Link riding a motorcycle :o)

As long as this new Zelda doesn't have that same, dreadful dungeon that you had to go through over and over AND OVER, I'm interested.

Yeah, I'll be grabbing this too I think, although I never finished Phantom - the sodding dungeon you had to keep going through was a game killer for me.

Yeah I eventually gave up after the continuous revisiting of the same dungeon. Think I was fairly near the end of the game aswell...... Anyway, hopefully they have taken the good things from PH and improved on them and also no going back to the same dungeons!

I definitely echo the sentiment that there better not be another dungeon you have to visit repeatedly through the game. Real game killer. I eventually got round to finishing it at the end of last year about 9 months after I'd originally given up on it.

So that's 7th December 2010 for europe then....

I'm pretty sure it's already been confirmed for a Q4 2009 release in Europe, so I'm guessing it'll be around the same time. Phantom Hourglass arrived here about two weeks after the US, and I think they'll want this out in time for Christmas.

PH always reminds me of my time travelling - was in Melbourne for a week and it never stopped raining (foreign cities suck when its raining). A guy in the hostel had a DS with Zelda in it which I borrowed and couldn't put it down. Finished the game 3 days later just as the sun came out :) Better than a book...
It was the only exposure to games I had in about 18 months and I couldn't have picked a better one - it'll always have a place in my cold and cynical heart...
