Nintendo dates European DSi XL

Due out in March.

Nintendo has announced that the DSi XL will launch in Europe on 5th March and will be available in wine red and dark brown colour schemes.

There's no word on a price yet and so far there's no advice from retailers. The existing Nintendo DSi model retails for around £139.

The DSi XL will come preloaded with the DSi web browser, "A Little Bit of Brain Training: Arts Edition" and "Dictionary 6 in 1 with Camera Function".

The oversized handheld boasts 4.2-inch screens and rejigged internals but is otherwise comparable to a DSi in terms of performance, as we found out in our hands-on with the Japanese unit.

The DSi XL has been available in Japan since 21st November, and sold over 100,000 units during its first few days on sale there.
