Ninja Theory signs up with Namco News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 News by Ellie Gibson

19 August, 2009

Ninja Theory has signed a new publishing deal with Namco Bandai Games.

The announcement was made at the NBG press conference in Cologne today. Apparently Ninja Theory's new game is in development for PS3 and Xbox 360, but that's all they're saying so far. Not so much as a piece of concept art was shown.

Ninja Theory, you may recall, developed Heavenly Sword - but since then they've been a bit quiet. Read our review if you fancy a trip down memory lane.

Ninja Theory not doing exclusivity, after last one was not a roaring success as much as they'd hoped perhaps?

So very pleased to hear Ninja Theory are back developing for the Xbox, Kungfu Chaos was one of my very favourite games of last gen. I really really hope they are working on a XBL sequel to it!

I'd be happy with the original on the GoD service

Unfortunately it's not backward compatible. I still have my original copy in the vain hope that one day it will be added to the BC list..

I liked Heavenly Sword. Well made, if a little laborious at times. Could look stunning at points.

Heavenly Sword, one to rent. Okay to play, fantastic set pieces in places, but feels a little short and limited. They should have spent a bitt more time on how the game played and the levels design.
And some of the boss fights are terrible.

For some reason I always thought Sony had bought them as part of their Cambridge studios, I guess I was wrong.
