Next-gen Star Wars revealed
Force Unleashed on next-gen.
Star Wars is heading to next generation consoles (yes we're shocked too), with LucasArts' UK distributor Activision today confirming reports that a next-generation adventure is in development.
It will be called Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, having been unveiled in the latest issue of US magazine Game Informer, and will focus on the Dark Side, taking place between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope.
In it, you'll be able to admire Darth Vader's rise to power from your role as his apprentice, which will see you seeking out and destroying the last Jedi in the Universe.
It's not known when we can expect a release or even who's been tasked with developing it, but Activision expects more information to be made available soon.
Chances are that what we see will bear some resemblance to the next-generation concept demo shown behind closed doors at last year's E3. The video demonstrated how Force powers might appear on new console hardware, and you can still admire the action over on Eurogamer TV.

Please make it good.
And yes, Steroyd - how dare they pass up the oppurtunity to make a Light Sabre game for Wii? It simply must happen!

Yeah, lumps, but we surely can't argue continuity in a game that puts you in the role of Darth Vaders' apprentice?

Good Point!

Yoda is a Jedi, NOT a Sith. If you remember the movies, there were a lot of Jedi in the good old days.

It was the Jedi who said the 'only 2 'rule - and what do they know? Their leader is a frog!

Yes I understand that, I think my point was that if 'Darth Vadars apprentice' killed the very last Jedi between ep 3 & 4, then he would have killed Yoda?

Well, it seems that he didn't do a good job then! So, Vader fired him using his good old Force Grip, and that's why we didn't had the chance to see him in the movies

I meant about Jar Jar Binks. Shittest character in motion picture history.

Absolutely, grandpa, and then we could have some nice storyline from the new game about just what a badass he had turned into 'twixt episodes 3 and 4. I vote for more schools of Jedi Children that need hunting down and chopping to mincemeat with the 'sabre.
All this Vaders' apprentice nonsense, whilst perhaps acceptable in 'Wars lore (and I really am not anorak enough to care) is just a bit 'Wipe the memories of the droids' as far as continuity goes.
And as an unlockable extra, I want to play with the voice of David Prowse. "Ooo-arrr, my lord, Oi'll git them orf yer land roight now".

The mind boggles at the lack of good Starwars games - I remeber getting a CD-Rom drive just for Darkforces - Glory Days. Talent at places like Bungie Epic Cytek etc must be astonished that such a rich well developed universe is so poorly implemented and underused. In fact scrap that, they are probably very thankful that it's lack of success has allowed them to flourish.

Guess they are not that interested in current affairs, with a society of belligerent middle class citizens in support of slavery, all and sundry being completely self absorbed, and nobody with enough political acumen to realise WTF is going on!
Mind you, Anakin "Schumacher" Skywalker showed what a slave an a bit of force can do! Qui-Gon's little gamble would probably have a hard time passing mustard with the NSPCC.

It shouldn't be THAT surprising that Vader has an apprentice. In fact, in the Expanded Universe (books etc) he helps train several people.
The Sith Rule of Two was established by Darth Bane about 1,000 years before Episode 4. I have a book called Dark Lord which is about what Vader did in the first few months after the events of Episode 3. In it, he hunts down several Jedi who survived the purge. Several more Jedi survive, so killing "all the Jedi" doesn't mean Yoda, its just a generalisation. This game will fit into the Star Wars canon perfectly fine so relax.
Phew, got that out of my system. Any more questions!?

Nah, since he was animated he showed more life than either of the human actors around him. Especially Liam Neeson spent the (first) movie squinting while he appeared to fight back bile rising over the inane script and horrid lines. "Argh, more saying 'mithocodrians'... gotta remember I am doing this for my kids, persevere dammit!" he was probably thinking.

The Secret Apprentice won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb.
I am now very nearly sold.

It's written from the perspective of the Empire. What they think to be the "last Jedi", you know...Darth and the Emperor were the only two that probably (and secretly) knew differently. As well as those who did stay hidden.
