Ubi releases Black Arrow premium content

Assault Pack #1 available to buy via Xbox Live

Ubisoft has released a four-map premium content pack for Rainbow Six: Black Arrow, adding more multiplayer scenarios for Live subscribers to duke it out on.

Assault Pack #1 is available for $5 in the US (where it has been announced ahead of anywhere else, as per usual), which should translate to the usual £2.99 or 4.99 Euros.

For your money you get Killhouse, a small urban terrain training facility set in Hereford here in England, of all places, Winterlodge, a deserted lodge adjacent to a graveyard and forest set in Hudson Bay Canada, Petroleum, an oil transport depot set in Apha, Saudi Arabia, and Office 2, an indoor map set in, you guessed it, an office, apparently in Montreal Canada. Hey, maybe it's the Ubi offices?

So, if you're starting to get bored of the maps in Black Arrow, for a few quid this looks like it could be just the ticket.

Hereford isn't that surprising when you consider that the SAS are based there (and in the book at least so is Rainbow).

There is an auto update fixes spawn killing by giving a 5 second invincibility and it also fixes the canister getting lost in the map during retrieval, lastly it fixes ELO glitches.

I won't bother getting these maps. Halo 2 is'nt far away. Black Arrow bores me these days.

Rainbow Six died about two weeks ago, its pretty difficult to find a game now due to the lack of players. hopefully this will fix things in the short-term.

It's such a pity ubisoft decided to release this now and to charge £4 for it is ridiculous. Who in their right mind is gonna pay for 4 maps on a game that they will hardly play when halo 2 is out. I suppose rabid 6 players and clans but thats about it......oooops answered my own question there. :(

I got the maps downloaded last night - Pirotic, you're very wrong about lack of people on R6 these days. With the old one maybe, but Black Arrow is very busy all the time.

Anyway, as for the maps - Hereford is your typical camp-and-die runaround map, Office 2 is borrowed slightly from a map in the original campaign game (I'm told) - it's big and has several very interesting areas.

The next two are worth the money! Petroleum is a nicely sized map, not too big or small, with some long LONG train tracks which should be good for sniping down, as well as some more typical scenery. Very nice. Winterhouse is definitely the best of the lot though - it's another in the snow, but while there are some small surrounding snowfield areas (including a graveyard), the house area is really well detailed, lots of places to go - looking forward to trying this properly tonight, it was too late to do anything but download them and have a quick explore last night...
