Xbox Live 360 pricing revealed?

Not officially, mind.

French website XboxLive.fr is claiming it has stumbled across the US pricing bundles for the Xbox 360 Live service.

The Premium Gold Pack is priced at $69.99 and will get you a 12 month subscription, an Xbox Live headset, $20 off an Xbox 360 game and 200 Xbox Live marketplace points. Plus you can play Billiards in the Xbox Live Arcade.

If you don't need the extras you can get a 12 Month Gold Card, which offers a year's subscription only, for $59.99.

If that sounds like too much commitment, the 3 Month Premium Gold Pack is just $39.99. It includes - as you might have guessed - a three month subscription, plus a headset, $10 off a game, 100 marketplace points and access to Xbox Live Arcade game Joust. A straight 3 Month Gold subscription is $19.99.

And finally there's the 1 Month Gold Card, priced at just $7.99. Of course, if you're a real cheapskate you can stick with the free Xbox Live Silver subscription - but this'll only let you log on to use the marketplace and chatrooms, and you won't be able to play games online.

Microsoft was unavailable for comment so we've really no idea if this is the real deal or a big fat hoax. But, rather interestingly, the same details have recently appeared on the Electronics Boutique website - only they've priced the 12 Month Gold card at $49.99 instead of $59.99.

Truth or lies? We'll keep you posted...

What use is the Xbox Live Silver Subscription? The Premium Gold Package will be £49.99 when it arrives here. So the Xbox 360 will cost £330 to play on-line? That's without a game. I'll be waiting a month or so before I buy an Xb360.

the 12 month gold card also comes with a month free, so it's really a 13 month gold card

Does anyone else see MS's 'price creep'?

    £209 for a 360? Don't make me laugh!
  • Darkedge #4 7 years ago

Well the US pricing seems to have been leaked or announced and is $60 for gold and no free headset but a game instead.
With the headset comming with the delux pack I'd say that sort of pricing is closer - but FFS Microsoft you didn't do $ = £ for the console so why screw us for the live service?

"Does anyone else see MS's 'price creep'?"

    Er.. nope!

"but FFS Microsoft you didn't do $ = £ for the console so why screw us for the live service?"

They haven't. We've only seen the cost for the service in the US, not the UK.
  • Lothar Hex #7 7 years ago

Darledge, they haven't announced the UK prices yet, so what are you on about us being screwed over the live service? At least wait until we are/aren't being screwed.

But when Eurogamer continually posts speculation and rumour as news this sort of reaction is inevitable.
  • Yossarian #9 7 years ago

also, this is the same cost as Live ever was for Americans, only now you get more for your money
  • space_ace #10 7 years ago

    That's without a game

'60 comes with some games, regardless of the package type

    or is it u.s. only?!
  • Darkedge #11 7 years ago

oops saw the $ as £ bugger
  • Bezzy #12 7 years ago

So wait... can you play/buy XBox Live Arcade games with Sliver? I'm confused.

So what does my exisiting Live account rollover as when i get a 360 ?

"the 12 month gold card also comes with a month free, so it's really a 13 month gold card"

Will that not be like most contracts where it's actually an 11month one then? i.e. one month of the 12 is free

So, how much is one of those Marketplace Points worth? 1 MPP = 0.10 €? And if one already has a 'premium' (worth a year) xbl account now, does he also get the 200 MPP when he transfers to the xb2 xbl service? If not, it would be worth considering terminating your xbl account and getting the new package instead of transferring (with the obvious name problems).

Again, EG, this is all speculation and now news.

It says in this link http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=60737 that:

"Transferring your Xbox Live account to Xbox 360 will be part of the initial set-up procedure when you first plug in your console, and existing users have "Gold" membership. "

So why not just buy a current Xbox live 1 subscription from say Amazon for £30 or so and transfer it to the 360. Job done!

"Does anyone else see MS's 'price creep'?"

Jesus! what do you want ? MS to send you a free xbox 360 and buy you lunch too?
I honestly cant beleive how decent the pricetag on the 360 is! Its a bloody super powerful peice of kit at almost £100 less then the last gen on release.
I think certain ppl just whine for the sake of it.
