Phoenix Games signs UK-devved truck racer

Monster Arenas due out on PS2, with PC and Xbox versions also planned. Details and shots.

UK-based developer Data Design Interactive has signed a deal with Phoenix Games, who will publish the firm's Monster Arenas racing title for PlayStation 2 at some yet-to-be-determined point in the future.

Monster Arenas is, as you'd be able to tell if you'd checked out the screenshots, is a truck racer featuring a total of eight V12-powered monsters and four "totally extreme" race tracks.

There'll be lots of jumps, tunnels and bridges to stomp over, and a nitro boost to help speed things up. Data Design is also set on making the physics very believable and having the truck react appropriately to every bump, nudge and scrape.

In addition, there will be extra unlockable trucks and secret night-time stadiums, as well as time trial and two-player modes.

PC and Xbox versions are also on the cards, but there's currently no word on when we'll see them.
