Pro Evo 6 dated for 360/PC/PS2

Less than a month to go.

Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will be released on PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and PC on 27th October, Konami announced today.

PSP and DS versions will follow "shortly after".

Judging by Winning Eleven 10 and the PES6 demos shown off in Leipzig this past August, the game represents a significant update over PES5 - most notably in the reduction in fouls for crowding players.

The 360 version will also boast "noticeably improved" AI over its counterparts, which will also see some improvement - in areas like AI players running into space - according to Konami. The 360 version also runs in high-def and widescreen.

PES6 will also feature several new licensed clubs including Manchester United, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon and Olympiacos.

New licensed kits and squads will be included, too, for Czech, French, Australian, English, Italian, Argentinian, Spanish and Swedish national sides.

Three days before mine...I've never owned an ISS/PES game though - hardly ever played them; good start then?
  • InfiniteFury #4 5 years ago

Is it going to be possible to get "proper" team/player names imported onto the 360 in any way? It would never be an official update over Live I presume...

    Bring it on!

    /Is content enough

    /Loves Pro Evolution Soccer 5
  • #10 5 years ago

    /Also loves PES5

/But alas is sorely tempted by FIFA 07

/Sticks head in bucket of water

/Is still tempted by FIFA 07....
  • PS3lol #11 5 years ago

Why throw is that 360 comment?, so many damn trolls around here.

360 gets the best Pro evo, and Fifa 07 on 360 looks like it's going to blow all other football games out of the water, including Pro evo 6 and it's last gen graphics and gameplay.

Will be interesting to see how Fifa compares this time, it looks like they are making real steps in the right direction with the new 360 version. I hope they both release suitable demos to help in the decision making.
  • Zomoniac #20 5 years ago

There's a 360-version gameplay video just gone up on XboxYDE, along with a gameplay video of FIFA 07 a bit further down.

And, in all shamefulness, I have to honestly say that FIFA looks miles better. It now looks like a game of football, not just graphically, but the pace, the gameplay, the animations, everything looks like a whole new game that's been rebuilt with love and care. PES6 looks like PES5 without the obsessive fouling, and it no longer rules through having better animations because, frankly, it doesn't.

I think the love-run of the last 5 years may have ended.
  • SergioAguero #21 5 years ago

I also saw the latest Fifa 7 video and it looked good. The game seemed to flow well and it didn't looked too scripted. There's every chance that PES6 will still be the better game though- its something about the physics of the game which Konami does miles better. Maybe this year it will be worth buying both and next year if PES doesn't pull its socks up then Fifa will overtake...........but I still think Seabass and he team know best, despite the bloody awful licensing: Chelsea fans hahahahaha you deserve no better anyway.......

Just watched both the videos on Xboxyde and whilst it has to be said that fifa looks a whole world better than previous versions...........the through balls etc and the player movement still seem less realistic. most of the players standing still for through balls rather than running onto them. It still looks graphically superior but I think pro evo will still hold the gameplay from the looks of it.
  • The-Bodybuilder #26 5 years ago

I must say, I too I'm tempted by F07. It does look eerily like pro evo, but better.
  • The-Bodybuilder #27 5 years ago

But I'll wait till the reviews. Pro evo for now (haven't bought a fifa game since for 3 years).
  • Zomoniac #28 5 years ago

Weaselrat, can't say I agree with you. The players don't move to the ball in Pro Evo either, and if you watch the FIFA video, you'll see the reason the players aren't latching on to through balls is because as soon as you send a ball through, control immediately switches to the attacking player, like it should, rather than autmating the run to the ball. However, the two guys playing the game seem more concerned with standing around filming it than playing the game, and aren't running through to follow on to the ball. As for movement and animation, are we watching the same video? It looked miles better to me on FIFA.

Anyword on what the Live play will consist of this time?
Hopefully not just the bog standard 1v1.
I'm really hoping for at least 4way play over live on 4 different consoles. Leagues and tournaments. Or they can stick it up their Arse
  • The-Bodybuilder #30 5 years ago

    4v4

I really need to see reviews this year, it's gonna be close.
  • Zomoniac #31 5 years ago

effinjamie, I'm pretty sure PES6 is just 1v1 online. FIFA is 4v4, but only over two consoles.
  • GTBurns #32 5 years ago

Jebus! Will no one ever learn!? FIFA always looks good until you're unfortunate enough to play it. When they realise a prior version that is close to Konami's game engine I might believe that the the next one will usurp PES.

Does anyone really believe that 'prior' version has appeared?! *Ahem* RTTWC was bile, one of their worst yet, hard to believe they'll follow that catastrophy with the best game of footie ever, no? I wish they would, who doesn't, but it's simply not going to happen. On the flipside, very much looking forward to another competent and thoroughly engrossing instalment of PES. :)
  • Mordum #33 5 years ago

Well, I've always gone with Pro Evo... but this year FIFA is looking promising, going to be a much more difficult decision this time round. Which one is released first?
  • tobi #34 5 years ago

pes6 online on PS2 = PS2 players vs PC players!!!
  • Jimster71 #35 5 years ago

Think they are both out on the same day.
  • OnlyMe #36 5 years ago

    Zomoniac - It's possible to play PES5 2 on 2 online.
  • darshannon #37 5 years ago

So much for the 360 exclusivity.

p.s. oh, yeah... and it's twenty days after my birthday. :-P
  • Luigi #38 5 years ago

SL Benfica, até que enfim! Só falta o estadio da luz...
  • Yossarian #39 5 years ago

"So much for the 360 exclusivity."

they said it was next-gen exclusive, which it is
  • ChrisBrownUK #40 5 years ago

I believe (and hope!) the PS2 version will finally have a widescreen option.
  • twelveways #41 5 years ago

Why arent they releasing it on original XBox? Couldnt give a monkeys about fancy graphics and shit like that, I just want the teams and players. If it plays on ps2 then XBox surely wouldnt be hard....
I think its a ploy to get more mugs to splash out on that 360 piece of shit.
    wankers.
  • captainrentboy #42 5 years ago

God i'm glad I detest football, saves me splashing out on these annual rehashes.
Fifa 2007 was friggin flying out of the doors in work yesterday, quickest selling game this year so far for us,but it's expected really, and it only tends to be beaten by friggin need for speed.
  • Sunrise #43 5 years ago

    Zomoniac - It's possible to play PES5 2 on 2 online.

It might not be possible on the 360, which could have only 1vs1. That version is also rumoured to have an edit mode that only allows for transferring, not stat altering or creating. Let's hope not.

PC version is out on the 3rd of November, according to Play.com, and it was also mentioned on the e-mail PESFan fired out as being released later than the PS2/360 versions.

360 version only has 1on1, apparently.
