End of October.

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XII will be released in the USA on October 31st.

The PS2 exclusive RPG will be available in two versions - the normal everyday one (not its official name) and the Collector's Edition.

The latter features special packaging (maybe it's made out of cats), and a bonus DVD with promo trailers from the US and Japan, a developer interview, an art gallery and some featurettes.

The Collector's Edition will be exclusive to EBGames and GameStop though, so don't go looking for it anywhere else. What's more, it'll only be released in limited quantities.

There's currently no word on when FFXII will be released in Europe, but Square Enix has previously said it will be out this year.

There's currently no word on when FFXII will be released in Europe, but Square Enix has previously said it will be out this year.

And also 'next year', depending on which site you read. So basically... they haven't a fucking clue. As usual.

"This Year" means Fiscal Year 2006. (ends 31. March 2007)

i'm not so sure about that, the Pal version of DQVIII was actually quite well handled. But going by that, it will probably be a march 2007 release.

I also suspect a March 2007 release. But will I be too busy with God of War 2 and Okami to care? (Before you even bear in mind the likelihood that FFXIII would be drawing more attention at that time anyway. Especially prominent a problem if PS3 games are confirmed region-free.)

Well, although we do get it later, we quite often get extra stuff added on in that time, which is kinda cool (Dark aeons and paragon, along with some extra skills and scenes in FFX, various extra odds and sods in MGS games, to name a couple)

Yes, it's a bit annoying to have to wait, but a little patience goes a long way

October 31! Jeez...why they making us wait so long!? I'm definatly importing but I'm still sick of waiting! Feel sorry for people who are gonna have to wait till the end of March for European release though...

Here's hoping they'll hire some voice actors who can actually act (Yuna die die die!).
Even better, include the Japanese voices with English subtitles (yeah, and pigs might actually fly)...
