Chromehounds demo on Live
Everywhere except US/Canada.
SEGA has released a demo of Chromehounds on Xbox 360, and the Americans don't get to play it! Hahaha!
That's because, well, we don't know - but the bottom line is that the single-player demo, weighing in at 554.89MB, is available everywhere except the US and Canada. (Update: Apparently it's not available in Mexico either.)
"If you've ever tried to take your lemonade stand worldwide you'd understand," says the Marketplace FAQ on Major Nelson's blog.
The full game allows you to rumble around big landscapes as huge robots shooting at people, and includes some interesting multiplayer modes and customisation options - as you'll know if you read our extensive E3 impressions.
It's due out in Europe on July 7th.

And i do mean that.
Must go home and give it a try...

a)having to fork out £200 for the privilege
b)having the whole experiance ruined by ill-thought-out powerups.
With that said mind, a game like this lives and dies by its customisation options. I hope i'll be able to recreate my Mechwarrior monstrocities which would overheat and explode if you tried to fire more than 2 shots in a row...

Now all I have to do is sit in work all day thinking about downloading it when I get home.
ah...

The landscapes present in the demo are a little bland though, and their are some Vsync issues. The buildings you can destroy also have a habit of dissapearing into the ground in a Rampage style. Still, the smoke effects look quite good and the weapons feel reasonably satisfying.

Still, I actually like Armoured Core, so possibly my opinion doesn't count for much

I've now cancelled my pre-order. Thank goodness for playable demos, eh?

It's a game I've been looking forward to, but the demo does'nt blow me away (its very short for one thing)... although having said that, the two things I've been looking forward to the most (customization & multiplayer over Xbox Live) aren't here to try, so I'll probably still pick this up when its released (along with Prey... I think thats released around the same time, give or take a week).
I wish any demo's released would include online multiplayer (if the game supports it), as Xbox Live takes up about 80% of all the gaming I do... so its a big factor for me when deciding which games to buy.

"£50 next-gen games"
you really should'nt be paying £50 for your 360 games... I've never paid more than £39.99 for any of the ones I've bought (thats right from day of release too).
where do you shop for your games? online or high-street?

Now if they made a sequel to hostile waters...

The mechs look nice, the scenery is sparse. I wouldn't mind that in the slightest if it moved smoothly. Mostly it does, but then comes the tearing. When things get slightly busier the tearing gets worse, and along comes some frame dropping.
I'm starting to feel far less positive about the 360 - so few games are managing a solid tear-free experience. What's the problem?

I will definately be buying this.
Shame they didnt demonstrate more squad mechanics as thats another thing this game is supposed to champions "hunt as a pack or die like dog" or somthing like that wasnt it, both the slightly bland demo missions where solo.

Very slow mechs and Bland weapons. Maybe a mutli player demo would draw me back, but this demo is a dog.
