Red Steel multiplayer video News

Wii News by Tom Bramwell

26 October, 2006

Ubisoft has released a brand new trailer of Red Steel, showing off the game's multiplayer features in action.

Showing now on Eurogamer TV, the video mixes footage of people sitting on a couch being, er, aspirational I suppose, while in-game they shoot each other and generally do first-person shooter things.

But really, it's the sitting on the couch bit that'll generate the most entertainment. We only wish we were that cool.

Red Steel, of course, is due out exclusively on Nintendo Wii at launch, which is 8th December over here.

Don't you have homes to go to?

Yet to be convinced on the Wii.

But the more I see, the more I like...

That 4-player Red Steel looks really good actually.

Wii + 4 controllers will work out pretty expensive though.

They were playing really bad, sometime they would stop and do nothing.

Did they only have two people playing with four Wiimotes when shooting the game footage or WHAT?!?!?

Offline multiplayer - but you will have secondary orders sent through your little speaker on your wiimote, so you will be the only one to hear it. Pretty neat.

"can the wiimote sense when it;s not infront of a TV or being blocked by a couch?"

(Mayor quimby voice) Actually the IR sensor bar transmits data, of course visually, so er uh, yes, if the wimote can't see the sensor bah, you, er may-be behind the couch!

(Ordinary voice again) The wiimote has a bunch of other internal motion sensors too. But I hazard a guess the IR trasmits sound data among other things, to the wiimote.
