GTA: San Andreas Stories?

Rockstar won't rule it out.

Rockstar Leeds studio head Gordon Hall has made positive noises about the possibility of San Andreas eventually appearing in a GTA game on PSP.

"Can't rule anything out in terms of being able to fit San Andreas on there, but whether we'll actually do it or not, that's another matter!" Hall told Eurogamer in an interview published today.

"We will always try our best to push the boundaries on each consecutive title; who knows what the future might bring."

Advances made during the development of Liberty City Stories - Rockstar Leeds' first GTA PSP title - led to significant leaps in terms of what was possible in Vice City Stories, due out in November, Hall told us.

They've been able to "double the city size capable of fitting on a UMD," apparently. "At that rate we'll be able to go bigger the more we know and the more the technology moves on." In other words, don't rule it out.

One thing you can rule out for now though is VCS appearing on PS2, with Hall toeing the company line that this is a PSP exclusive. "There are as yet no plans to bring it to PS2; we hope everyone enjoys what we've done with the game on the format it was designed for," he said.

Didn't fancy San Andrea too much, thought Vice City was much better.

I would LOOOOOVE to see Rockstar Leeds create San Andreas with no loading times streaming of the disc.... without it eating the PSP's battery in one minute flat.

    o_O

Ditto Tejstar. I'm not a huge fan of GTA, I loved VC but SA was just too big and too directionless.

"with no loading times streaming of the disc.... without it eating the PSP's battery in one minute flat."

Those two things just don't sit well together unfortunately.

I've personally lost interest in GTA somewhat. Played a fair way through GTA:SA, but since then it just seems like there are more sequels than I can be inclined to keep up with. And then I played Saints Row, which on several fronts shows GTA how things SHOULD be done (not saying its a better game, I have no opinion on the matter. Though it does frustrate me far less than SA did, which drove me nuts at times with its absurd mission management).

I'll probably be interested in GTA IV, but all these in between filler versions are just passing me by (my loss I'm sure).

They need to wait untill Sony gives them the green light to use the max CPU/GPU speeds (ie 333Mhz)

Then it will look even better then on the PS2!

My money is on GTA: Los Santos Stories.

Surely the whole of San Andreas would be simply too big to fit on a UMD. Unless they opted for frequent loading pauses, which I'm sure would infuriate a lot of people.

Even if they do fit the whole of GTA: SA on a UMD i expect the draw distance to be a 1 metre radius.

GTA:SA was technically horrible in that area i can't bare to play it anymore because of that main reason.

How can they ever give the green light when it'll just mean the battery running out even more quickly? There's a reason for speed caps on portable devices.

ya its called bettery advances. You can already get better PSP batteries....

Its oly a matter of time before new PSP games start using the higher clock speeds...
