IN-FUSIO signs Halo for mobiles
Rings around the world.
IN-FUSIO has signed the rights to produce mobile games based on Microsoft's Halo series, the company announced today.
The new deal – an extension of IN-FUSIO's previous relationship with Microsoft – gives the company the right to develop and publish downloadable and embedded mobile applications based on Halo.
The first Halo products will start fizzing through the air in North America towards the end of 2005, with other territories set to follow shortly afterward.
IN-FUSIO CEO Gilles Raymond paid tribute to Halo's multimedia appeal, and said he expects, "the brand will now expand its reach to the millions of cell phone users around the world".
It's not clear what form the games will take, but Julian Corbett, Vice President of Business Development and Brand Partnerships for IN-FUSIO, insists that the deal is "first and foremost a creative one focused on delivering mobile applications true to the Halo universe".
"We are dedicated to expanding the franchise in ways that will be exciting for existing fans as well as delivering a fun and satisfying experience for a whole new audience," he added.
IN-FUSIO already publishes mobile games based on several Microsoft properties including Midtown Madness 3, Zoo Tycoon 2, Age of Empires 2, Banjo-Kazooie, SabreWulf and It's Mr Pants.
Halo has been the subject of mobile game rumours in the past – in particular Tiger Telematics has kept itself in the headlines by declining to rule out a version for its Gizmondo handheld.

Us hardcore gamers usually slaps mobile phone gaming. Instead, we should be happy that anyone enjoys "this crap".
(Possibly even get on with our own, and stop dissin' deviating opinions.)

I actually had a game on my phone called Smackhead Tony Blair - now that was fun (and nothing like mini-golf).

Doesn't say games - it could be a motion sensor/chewing gum counter, that shows nice people as yellow spots and nasty bastards who are trying to kill you as red spots.
And lets you know when you are running low on chewing gum.

Have you tried some symbian games? Well produced titles are in par with PSOne - even running at 30 fps.
Now I am not saying the mobile version of Halo will do that. But there is definitly potential.

3rd shooters JUST.DON'T.WORK. Driving games suck donkey balls. Sport sims? Give over. Puzzle games are the closest things they've got.
I mean COME ON, there's like a zillion cool flash games on the net, almost every one of which would work really well on a phone and help you while away a few minutes. Bring on the flash I say!
