PES6 to debut at E3

Seabass' first time at the show.

Konami has announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will debut at E3 - the first time in the series' history it will have done so.

Creator Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka remains at the helm, and will be visiting E3 with the game to promote it. "This marks my first trip to E3 and I am greatly looking forward to this chance to expand the games amazing popularity to a wider, global level," he says.

Konami's keeping quiet for now about what's changed in PES6 - which is likely to appear on PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PC and PSP - but has said to expect new moves, licensed clubs and gameplay modes, some of which will be unveiled during the show, which takes place between May 10th and 12th. A PlayStation 3 unveiling wouldn't be totally unbelievable either.

Incidentally, Konami may not be saying much about PES6 specifically, but it's a safe bet that many of the features touted in the Japanese Winning Eleven 10 title - released this week - will make it in. You can read more about WE10 in our previous coverage, with more PES coverage due during E3.

    Better have better bloody refereeing ;(

    Football is a completely non-contact sport according to PES5 ;(
  • mad_caddy #2 6 years ago

    ^what brocken said the amount of times i've clattered into a player and not had the fowl for it, oh and a trip on the way to goal is as bad as a hack. filthy AI.

    for the sake of the 360 version, i hope they announce it for ps3 too...

    i just cant see them putting in that much effort on a 'next gen' version just for the 360.
  • ecureuil #4 6 years ago

    PES6 does have better referees. The whole game is like a refined version of 5, with all the annoying bits taken out. I'm loving it.

    Kick his ass, Seabass!

    11 vs 11 on 360 LIVE please. Cheers Konami.

    Let's hope this is one of the demos they put up on Live, eh?

    Have been playing WE10 and have to say i hope PES6 is substantially changed from that. It is almost exactly the same as PES5. The lofted through ball is back to PES4 version, and the defending team AI, marking and tracking runs, has been improved. But apart from that the only new animations i have found seem to be for slide tackles. It plays almost identically to PES5.

    Could it be that this year FIFA is gonna be getter than Pro Evo...

    I hope not cos my FIFA playing mates will never shut up about it.
  • WhiteSaturn #10 6 years ago

    Ohh and the ref isn't better. He gives more cards, but the sliding tackles are better so there is less chance your player will just clatter someone and will actually get the balll.

  • Bumbuliuz #13 6 years ago

    I just hope the grapichs on the 360 will be a bit next-genish.

    Bring on PES6, current gen, next gen doesn't matter its all good. Konami, stay true to us PS2 users & when ready make the cross over to the next gen. Don't rush & make s.h.i.t like EA

    @WhiteSaturn

    Your kidding right? You havent noticed all the new player-specific animations? The new goal celebrations? the new special moves? The pace of the game being quicker? Dribbling back to PES3 Style? The new quick free kick move? The fact the ref lets play go on without the on screen indicator? No auto-sidestep? The completely changed keepers?

    Granted its an incremental update as all of them are, but it has changed a suitable amount from the last one, and for the better in all respects.

    PES = better gameplay
    FIFA = better presentation

    Annual update PES = adding 30 more animations for shooting, 3 more licensed players
    Annual update FIFA = slightly improving graphics, some improvements in gameplay to bring it closer to PES (imitation, flattery and all that), 560 new stadiums

    Konami = Gods
    EA = Shit-eating money printer

    ?

    For some reson i misread it PS6
    lol

    "Konami = Gods
    EA = Shit-eating money printer"

    Konami are just as bad as EA with this update 7 / 8 months after the last version. What sickens me is the state of the PC online servers. They started well, but have become unbelievabley laggy over time; sending a message to a player can take upto 2 minutes!

    I bet you a million quid the new PES6 online servers will be lovely, work well and be lag free.

    Disgusting.

    WE10 is significantly different than PES5, plays a hell of a lot different, much harder as well which is great, usually I play on 6* no problem but in WE10 even on 5* I'm struggling, plays much more like real football, you have to think and act as in real football, you have to really time your headers and tackles now, slide in all over the place and you'll hit nothing but air.

    Master League is exactly the same as PE5 as far as I can see, with the one exception of being able to choose transfer frequency and whether players age, disgusting lack of update and progression to this major (for me) aspect of the game. Presumably there will be no improvement to ML from WE10, which means its now been identical for PES4, PES5 and PES6, that's complete and utter shite.

    WE10's gameplay and ML and presentation = a good football game.

    WE10's gameplay + Fifa's career mode + Fifa's presentation = a very, very good football game.

    WE10's gameplay + Football Manager's career mode + Fifa's presentation = I'm calling off my wedding, no time to do anything but play this :)

    >"I just hope the grapichs on the 360 will be a bit next-genish."

    LOL.
    The graphics were substandard even fore the ps2.
    What makes you think they're gonna put the effort in?
