Saint's Row demo dated

Due out pre-release.

THQ and Volition's Xbox 360 exclusive Grand Theft Also, Saint's Row, is due out on August 29th in the States - but you won't have to wait that long to try it out.

That's because the companies are currently preparing a demo version for release on Xbox Live, and an update to the game's official website last week, which IGN subsequently confirmed with the publisher, said we can expect it on August 1st.

The demo will consist of single-player content, THQ added.

You can probably expect it to appear as promised, since THQ has quite a good history with Xbox 360 demos - having released a demo of The Outfit well ahead of time, and demoing MotoGP '06 during E3 week.

The publisher hasn't specified precisely when the game will be released over here, but does list the game as "spring" in its press materials.

Well, on the bright side, releasing a demo prior to the full game's release could mean they believe in the game. Which could also mean it's going to be a good game.

    It smells like.... 4/10.

I smell the most blatant GTA ripoff known to man. I've seen videos of gameplay, and quite frankly it's just GTA, but worse, cause it's not officially GTA. :D

I've heard rumours of this coming to PS3. I really hope it doesn't.

I do find it strange when people dismiss games long before they've even been released... surely you should wait till you get your hands on the game (or demo at least) before you make any judgements.

GTA 'can' be improved upon... we may have to wait untill GTA4 untill we see a real advance in this genre of games, but who knows, maybe a new franchise will set a higher benchmark for GTA4 to live up to (which can only be a good thing, surely?).
In my opinion Forza raised the level for the long running GT series to follow... so I'll always be optomistic until I try the game for myself.

The only thing Forza raised was fanboy penises. I found nothing in Forza that was superiour to GT in any way (except for selection of european supercars). It may be as good as GT, but not better.

The battle between GT5 and Forza 2 however, will probably provide a much bigger gap between them. We'll see who comes out on top.

It's very easy to dismiss games early when they look awful and sound dreadful. Look - I just did it there! Simple!

But thats like people dismissing the PS3 because it looks ugly... lets hope they don't, because it certainly has potential.
