Gibson seeks Guitar Heroes
To play on stage at Donington.
Calling all Guitar Heroes - Gibson (the guitar manufacturer, not the one in the hat) is offering you the chance to show off your skills at this year's Download Festival.
The festival will take place at Castle Donington from June 9th-11th, and Metallica, Tool and Guns & Roses are all set to headline.
Gibson is sponsoring the Third Stage, a big fat tent that will showcase new acts along with old favourites such as Killing Joke and Skindred. Guitar Hero fans will be able to take the stage and rock out in between band performances - if you fancy giving it a go, email guitarhero@bhpr.co.uk to reserve your place.
There might be opportunities to just walk over and sign up on the day, too. And if you'd rather try out the game without 2500 people looking on, you'll be able to do so in the Snickers Bowl area.
"We're hoping the opportunity to play the Third Stage will encourage Guitar Hero players to move from a virtual Gibson SG to the real thing," said Red Octane bigwig Kelly Sumner.
"There is nothing like the thrill of playing to a huge audience - and we're sure they'll appreciate the performances as much as those Guitar Hero players lucky enough to get on stage."
