Lumines 2 at E3?

Sony lets slip.

Lumines 2 will be at E3 by the sound of it.

Although nobody's officially announced it, news of it slipped out during a video segment on Sony's US website. One of the chaps presenting was talking about PSP games, and mentioned that LocoRoco, Gangs of London and Lumines 2 will be at the show.

Lumines, of course, is the mega-brilliant musical puzzle game from Tetsuya Mizuguchi and Q Entertainment, which ate entire days when we first got hold of it - and any time we put it back in our PSPs, actually.

The man himself's talked about a sequel on a couple of occasions - most notably in an online chat where he talked about early development and how he's thinking about upping the maximum score to 999,999,999 this time around.

That said, if Lumines 2 does make it to E3, it won't be because Sony's publishing it, or even because Ubisoft - who did it in the West last time - is doing so. IGN spoke to both yesterday and both denied they were involved.

Whoever's doing it, if it's there we'll let you know what it's like.

i played it constantly for a month, and lots after but PES5 is stuck in my PSP now and i keep forgetting to bring lumines, and syphon filter is due soon and daxter has been looking tempting and PES6 is due for the world cup

I'm still desperately awaiting Every Extend Extra... hopefully Lumines 2 is just a screwy name for it.

Lumines is the only PSP game I own. Nothing else has really interested me so far. Had enough of GTA on Xbox, not a footy fan so PES5 is out... maybe Syphon Filter...? Will probably wait until it drops in price though...

As much as I admire my PSP's sexy curves, I'm starting to feel it's a bit of a white elephant... why pay money to play compromised versions of what I can get for my big console... maybe E3 will see things pick up.

    Hutt out

Should be great - hard to stuff up such an essentially simple concept (though it has been done). I just hope they vary (even three or four different ones would be okay) the songs that you hear on the first few levels. Sat through those a few times, and as funky as they are...

Shouldn't it be Bandai? They published the first one.

1up has screens and some cool info.

Lumines 2 and Lumines Plus (PS2)... also there's finally some mention of Every Extend Extra. Could I be happier with a single news post? One reckons not.

"whens a bloke with a WoW addiction meant to play all these games"

The loading times on PSP PES5 are _abysmal_ . That coupled with the fact that you spend half your time looking at frontend screens has really killed the game for me. Maybe if you play something else - you'll have more time ^_^. And Lumines has no loading times to speak of at all \0/.

Buena Vista are publishing it in all regions, and a PS2 version.

Linky, although you'll need to get a login from BugMeNot in order to read it.

Edit: And they're publishing Every Extend Extra, which was asked about above.

Lumines 2 doesn't look very different from the first one, does it? Let's hope they add a few more game modes.

And what the hell is Meteos: Disney Edition?
