Tom, thank you for letting me know that you are going to put a story on EG telling people that there will not be any news updates on Monday. I am thinking about whether to put a story on GI telling people that there will not be any news updates on Monday but I need to do some research first. I will let you know what the results of the focus group are re: putting a story on GI telling people there will not be any news updates on Monday.

I am interested in the results of your research relating to the possibility of doing a story on GI telling people that there will not be any news updates on Monday, so please alert me to your findings. This may then factor in to the format I adopt for my proposed EG story telling people that there will not be any news updates on Monday, which currently mainly focuses on the fact that there will not be any news updates on Monday, but leaves room for periphery information in addition to the previously stated information about there not being news any updates, on EG, on Monday. Look forward to hearing from you about there not being any news updates on Monday soon. (Please be aware however that I will not be doing any work on Monday.)

Tom, I have completed the focus group session, which involved asking the landlord's mate who has come round to fix the washing machine and has succeeded in breaking the dishwasher whilst failing to fix the washing machine whether he thinks I should put a story on GI telling people that there will not be any news updates on Monday. He said, "It's because the wires have come out the back you see and now I don't know which ones are which." I am going to put a story on GI telling people there will be no news updates on Monday.

Ellie, thank you for this additional clarification on the situation regarding GI's story about there not being any news updates on Monday. Please can you outline the test conditions adopted for the finding out about whether to do a GI story about there not being any news updates on Monday testing and provide the landlord's mate's hat size so that if there is to be a story about there not being any news updates on Monday, on EG, this afternoon, it will be possible to furnish it with the sort of contextual detail that people have come to expect from Eurogamer's news reporting which will not be happening on Monday. Also, could you let me know if you think it would be worth flagging that last fact up for the readers, possibly in the form of a story revealing that there will not be any news updates on Monday.

£10 bets says that when EG post a news article on Tuesday a few of the comments will be about how it's old news and why it's taken so long to get on the site. |

The Americans. The Europeans. All the people who don't read Eurogamer are checking on Bank Holidays. I think the Yanks and most of our European brethren have the Monday off also... Edit: Yes, the Yanks definitely have the day off. They call it Memorial day, I wonder why. Probably to commemorate that they used to call it "Bank Holiday" before their independence from us.

I'll never understand how people could even consider complaining about a site not updating on a bank holiday when they don't pay a damn penny for it (And complain about the adverts that fund the site as well)
However, they better have double the amount of news on Tuesday though, or they will be hunted down! :-D |

I cant beleive an internet news website doesn't post news over the weekends. I think its stupid and the reason why other news sites are still ranked above EG. Couldn't you write some form of script that lets you select a time and date for when you want an article posted. That way you could write a review/preview on Friday and the site wont publish until Sat/Sun or even Monday. That way when the internet is at its most busiest this site still gets updated instead of forgotten about. EG is like the biggest gaming site in the UK and for it to practically shut down at weekends is daft. Sort something out. |

The internet isn't actually at it's busiest during weekends/bank holidays... internet usage dips when people aren't at work.
Also, we do publish features every Saturday and Sunday - it's only news that we don't. Partly because our staff work the normal working week, and partly because every games company is off too so if we called them for comment on anything no-one would pick up and we'd end up just running unsubstantiated rumours off blogs and stuff like that. |
