Mario Baseball, Donkey Konga 3, Cube Kirby shots

Nintendo releases shots of three new Cube titles, along with some new pics from The Legend of Zelda.

Nintendo isn't saying much about any of them, but as well as releasing three new screenshots of the next GameCube-bound instalment of The Legend of Zelda, the platform holder has also released shots for three previously unannounced Cube titles: Mario Baseball, Donkey Konga 3, and an as-yet untitled Kirby game.

There are no real details on any of them, but you can have fun extrapolating from the shots by clicking on the links above. We reckon the Zelda shots have been culled from the E3 trailer, so we don't know how representative those are at this point, but the others tell some stories: Mario Baseball, for example, shows the likes of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Bowser, Wario and more taking up positions.

You can also see Funky Kong doing... something... in the DK3 shots, while the Kirby collection suggest a nicely 3D game that touches all the usual bases. By which we mean gobbling up locals, zooming around on rainbows and floating beneath umbrellas.

As soon as we hear anything else about any of them, we'll be sure to mention it.

Indeed.. is there anything they won't ram Mario characters into.

Mario Baseball does seem to be a good idea actually. Aren't that many Baseball games around, and a fun version, instead of Sim version might be what the Doc ordered.

Can't say I really care about the Kirby game or DK3 though. Would rather see N working on some new stuff. I'd guess that HAL are doing the Kirby game, surely something different for them would be better.

Er... was it? I don't remember ever seeing a 'Wind Waker sequel' shot. Just the 'new, hard, cool for the kids' stuff.

The NEW Zelda is soooo COOL!

They also made Link good-looking! Betta watch out Cloud, Squall and Tidus!!
  • Daryoon #9 8 years ago

Well it -is- a sequel to WW, just as WW was a sequel to OoT/MM. I believe it even uses the same engine, just not the same graphical style...

    But still...
Complaining about them not doing anything new, then complaining because they change something....
    Uh....

A new interview with Miyamoto in the latest issue of Famitsu...

    Quote:

    Online Gaming
I'm sure that in 3 to 4 years online gaming will be mainstream and we know that we have to move.
The DS will get online gaming sooner than you think.
SquareEnix and Nintendo are working on DS online.

    About GameCube
Mario Baseball is a joint project with Namco.
Mario 128 is still under development for GC... but its still a secret when it will be released.
We are making a new Pokemon game for GC.. with STRONG ALLIES.
I personally like Chibi-Robo from Skip and Otama from Yut Saito.

    About Game Boy Advance
Earthbound 2 (Mother 3) will be released soon.

    Oops... too late.

    Oops... too late.

    Oops... too late.

I wonder what time this guy shows up at work?
  • Blerk #17 8 years ago

I still think they didn't get it wrong with online gaming. They just got everything else wrong.

"I still think they didn't get it wrong with online gaming. They just got everything else wrong. "

I agree about online gaming, it's not really mainstream enough. I'm not sure about getting everything else wrong, just not doing it well enough. GBA-GC connectivety, don't like it myself, but if they actually did it well enough and got publishers on board it could have worked. Also just not enough games, about a year after release, the momentum died. Nintendo need a good end to this life cycle to convince gamers and developers that they won't give up when things aren't going great. (although I think it's too late for them to really turn things around this gen)

    Hey Dizzy!

Is all that Shit you posted really true!?

    I never lie!
  • Ignatius_Cheese #21 8 years ago

Nah, you never lie. You just seem to complain like an old woman! We should be happy! In a slightly happier way than being unhappy...

    >I heard that Dizzy's mum only allows him to play PS2 because she wants him to look cool in front of the other kids from school who currently think he's a totally mong. He secretly wants to play Nintendo but can't escape from his mother's vice-like grip. That's what I heard anyways.

    ROFL..

Sadly Dizzy is 36, hasn't lived with his mom for 15 years, develops games and doesn't have a PS2. Maybe that is why I don't like Mario/Zelda! ;) BTW Kirby rules.

    :)

36 and still an anti-fanboy? Maybe it's about time to grow up a bit then eh Dizzy? ;3
