Sonic Riders on PC

Hoverboards meet hard-drives.

Not content with its persistent whoring of the Sonic license on consoles, handhelds and mobiles, SEGA of America has announced the development of Sonic Riders, the hoverboard racer, on PC.

Brace yourselves for "an electrifying ride" through 13 courses either in single player or with that someone special in 2-player mode. Marvel at the incredible array of collectibles, pick-ups and bonus items, and whoop with joy as you fly past the opposition and win the tournament.

Of course, if Tom's console review is anything to go by, you'll also be wrapped in wonder at what the hell is going on with the on-screen icons and how on earth you turn corners without crashing for a good while too.

Still, according to SEGA of America's VP of marketing, Scott A. Steinberg, "Sonic Riders adds a new and exciting dimension to PC racing games," which sounds quite nice really.

Sonic Riders on PC is set for release later this year, just in time for Santa to empty it onto your floor from his magic sack.

So it'll be a crap port of a crap game. I'm surprised they make any profit from these PC versions of Crazy Taxi, Virtua Tennis, Sonic Adventure etc.

some is better than none.. And they dont need to pay for license to make pc game.

I was thinking sub porting and distribution-cost sales but I must be wrong if they're continuing to do it.

Maybe the porting to the PC costs almost nothing if it's written for Xbox or Xbox 360 anyway?

"Sonic Riders adds a new and exciting dimension to PC racing games,"

It must hurt to have to spew blatant lies all the time.

I'm not sure I want Santa emptying his magic sack on my carpet.

I just had it cleaned from last year.

OK Sega, thanks for bringing OutRun to PC. That doesn't mean you have to bring EVERY ONE of your games to PC . After all PC is a premium, discreet platform for techno-savvy, literate cosmosexual citizens of this world who value intellectual challenge and carefully understated stimulation above the distastefully brash entertainment and infantile instant gratification offered by some machines styling themselves as 'consoles'. So stay within your station and if possible, limit yourself to the handhelds.

    Dear Sega.

Keep bringing out all your games on the pc. Especially 360 and ps3 games, as I have no intention on buying either of those two platforms for a while.

    Thanks

Dear Sony & MS: Please revise your production plans for your respective next gen suckfests. Smelly is not interested right now.

Erm.. my comment wasnt a dig at the ps3 or 360 you know?

Just that i genuinely dont intend to buy either (or psp) for at least a year (or until something i REALLY want to play comes out on one), so im more than happy that sega is prepared to release their games on pc!

@smelly: No one said you took a dig man - where is your sense of humour? Read in context, I like to think my comment was funny (wishful thinking I know). It just followed from the earlier chain. Get a life! ;-)
