Half-Life 2: Episode Two video News

PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3
News by Tom Bramwell

24 July, 2006

Valve's released a trailer showing off some of the stuff you'll be doing in Half-Life 2: Episode Two, due out later this year on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The trailer's available now on Eurogamer TV.

According to Valve (and bear in mind this is all spoilerific, especially if you haven't played Episode One yet): "Armed with new weaponry and vehicles, Dr. Gordon Freeman must race through a countryside riddled with an increasingly fierce Combine threat."

The Episode Two trailer follows new Team Fortress 2 and Portal trailers, which surfaced last week. Both TF2 and Portal will form part of the Episode Two package.

What's more, next-gen console owners will also receive Half-Life 2 and Episode One in their bundles, so there's lots to look forward to.

EA is distributing the boxed version of the game, and is keeping quiet about the release date, but Valve has previously said it hopes to ship Episode Two by the end of this year.

Great to see Source doing it's bit on environments other than City 17. Looks fantastic and love the idea of Eps 2 and 3 taking the fight beyond the city out into the "world"

Before the end of the year? Excellent. I didn't expect it so soon.
Will be good to venture further than City 17. I'm playing ep1 at the minute and it's feeling a little bit too samey as HL2. Still great game though.

I want them to do away with Alyx though. I found it too easy with so much help from her.

Amazing. The fact that Valve trailers always live up to the game doubles the pleasure.

Ep1 was delayed for at least 8 months so I will be hoping but not holding my breath.

The Hunters (cheers HoriZon) have changed colour since the trailer at the end of Ep 1. They used to be a mean gunmetal grey, now they are more of a Colgate aqua-marine...

Also, the vortiguant holding Alex looks much better now, if a little shinier.

I am thinking you mean that the games live up to the trailers. ;)
