Lara loves Eurogamer!

See her speak on EGTV.

It's official - Lara Croft loves Eurogamer.

She told us so, in fact, when we got the chance to catch up with her at E3 recently - or rather her real life alter ego, 20 year old Londoner Karima Adebibe.

As previously announced, Adebibe used to work in Top Shop (though as we found out, that was an awful long time ago and she was studying at the time). She's the seventh real life Lara, and the first one who's been allowed to speak. And yes, she really does like games.

Head on over to Eurogamer TV right now to find out why Lara likes those skimpy outfits so much, how she deals with attention from fans and whether she'd shop at Top Shop.

First off, I'm pretty sure this is in the 'news' section so that everyone gets a chance to make a comment withough continually hitting the EGTV page.
    Secondly /cringe
Thridly - feels a bit sorry for her. She sort of comes across as a nice girl who is doing a pretty impossible job. I think there was one point she was talking about herself in like th 4th person!
Fit though, very fit. I wouldn't kick her out of bed for farting.

I'm sure lots of ex-Top Shop till workers cum models are huge EG fans and her statement has nothing to do with the fact she's been told want to say by some cheap PR bore.

This is unbelievably news worthy, what other things can I look forward to in the future? game reviews from some bloke down the pub? or is it just no games news day?

Apparently Paris Hitlon, Jordan and Jodie Marsh are big fans of EG too - perhaps they should interview them?

It's just a bit of fun - Tyronne, there's plenty of other news and stuff on the site today as well!

Paris Hilton couldn't even name her own game, so I doubt it would it's worth trying to talk to her :)

Next stop on the Eurogamer TV E3 interview circuit, the Nintendo booth featuring the new Tetris DS title where we will be interviewing a Brick.

quite grown up for a 20 y'old... erm...

Well, I thought the jury was out with Paris Hilton and she may have got the name right after all. But heh - at least she's had a game based on her i.e. a real person as opposed to this I'm-sures-a-lovely-girl but you kinda know she's probably not played a video game in her life AND she is basing herself on a fictitious character.

But heh, you're probably right, I'm probably taking this too seriously. Perhaps Ellie was being tongue-in-cheek.

Actually, am I the only one that sees the silhouette of the LA Expo centre, in the top banner of the E3 coverage, and keep thinking it's Ellie's cowboy hat?

    I reckon it's just me.......

yes, a couple of years is "an awful long time" for a 20 year old... just wait til she's 40 and her Lara's are down around her knees...

"Yes, like, I'm a BIG fan of Eurogamer! By the way I'm here like, to promote my new game, you know, which is called, ehm, Jewel Raider?"
  • #20 6 years ago

She didn't actually sound that dumb to me really. It's obvious the EG interviewer was asking some questions that made it impossible for her to stick to the 'plan' and answer "as Lara". A bit unfair really, and not what she was there to do - look pretty and make you want to buy Tomb Raider. She's got her arms crossed for most of it too - perhaps this lack of chemistry is behind the reason to keep in all the *hilarious* bloopers. I recon when she's not on the job, you could feasably have a decent chat with her over a few drinks. At least it wasn't a case of "oh god, please don't open your mouth - that accent!!" like (insert least favorite menmber of girls aloud here, or the awful californian drawl of hollywood stars/paris).

Because of course good looking women are not allowed to speak trivialities at cameras.

I know if I was dressed up as Lara Croft in a room full of geeks i'd be in intellecktuel mode.

    ...

if I was dressed up as Lara Croft

    Hmmmm....
