Rise & Fall demo

Arise, a Rise & Fall demo.

Fans of seesaw-based international conflict (and PC-based real-time strategy games) will be pleased to learn that there's a demo of Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War out at the moment - and on Eurofiles.

The 392MB demo features a battle in which the Egyptians take on the Romans in the game's skirmish mode.

Obviously that's barely the extent of what the full game offers - those of you picking it up later this year will also get Greek and Persian empires to command, as well as a mighty campaign mode and eight-player multiplayer.

There'll even be a team mode where one player manages resources while the other goes to war - a bit like when I'm trying to pay for some clothes and my friend Rachel looks like she's ready to punch people if they don't hurry up.

And now it can be said that all those screenshots that they put out were truly fake.

Formations, ala battle for middle earth and rome are nowhere, this game is just above average age of empires clone.

You can make formations numbnuts. They're not as solid as them in TW but I don't care.

The fact that I get to command on the frackin battlefield makes this the best RTS in recent years!

And the detail - holy crap! A bit of a hog yes but it's sooo pretty! :D

/hacking away at the archers with my mighty blade... :D
