PES6 patched on Xbox 360

Should be smoother now.

Konami says it has released a patch to deal with some of the problems plaguing Pro Evolution Soccer 6 users on Xbox Live.

"The free update resolves the connection problems when finding an opponent, making for a smoother online experience, and is automatically downloaded whenever the consumer plays online," the publisher said in a statement.

PES6 has previously been criticised not only for the quality of its online matches, but the breadth of options available compared to the PS2 version.

We haven't had the chance to test out the update ourselves, but feel free to tell us about your experience with it below, and we'll pass your comments on.

Better but still a slight delay on buttons/movement. Surely they can do better
  • penhalion #2 5 years ago

Did anyone buy PES6. I found it dull and actually find Fifa better now

The delay when shooting is a pain. What good is a football game when the shoot button is crap.

    Sort it Konami

The delay is online. It also happends on the direction stick and is noticeable at free kicks/corners/goal kicks. Its not good enough. PES5 worked online in this resepct so why can't this?

    penhalion:

I bought PES6 and find it much more thorough in it's gameplay than Fifa. Thanks for asking : )

  • bruuge #7 5 years ago

Yeah Free Kicks are so hard to judge online cus of the delay.
    I always sky em

    Hurrah for the Patchbox !
  • trevd72 #9 5 years ago

I am starting to think it is best not to buy a game that I intend to play on live for a little while after release. It will be cheaper and more importantly it will be patched so that it actually works.

PES on 360 is a little drab. My fav is still number 4 with a super patch for all the chants, names etc. mint
  • chrism_scotland #10 5 years ago

Online is still mince, connecting to games is worse instead of better.
  • Rich72 #11 5 years ago

....and 9 times out of ten your opponent chooses Inter, gets adriano on the ball (who is near impossible to dispossess) jink his way through your defence and score the same goal over and over.... rinse repeat.

and you can't reject any challengers without going to the dashboard

mind you at least i got an online game.... not too laggy

won first match, after that.... oh dear!

PES has declined since the series has gone online. Versus mates offline or versus the CPU it was great; PES4 being my favourite. However since that game, online play versus dedicated opponents shows up far too many flaws in the game. It still plays beautifully sometimes, but it just has this little niggles that wouldnt matter sitting on your sofa, but playing online where players can exploit or use these niggles over and over just ruins the experience.

God forbid, I actually prefer this years Fifa to this years pro evo! Maybe after extensive play flaws in that game may start to bug me... but I'm just enjoying not being frustrated by the same old PES problems for now!
  • Rich72 #13 5 years ago

and why can my opponents just run through my defence and i can't.....seems odd. doesn't happen every game but far too often

I was really looking forward to PES6 on my spanking new Xbox 360, but when it came through the door and I put it into my machine, I just wanted to cry.

I had about 3 friends round who all had the game on PS2, and I had to switch it off in shame. As yeah it looked nicer than the PS2 version, but that was it. It had tooooooo many features and perks missing that ruined the 1 player experience and the response times were crap compaired to the PS2 version. How can they get only half a game out. This is meant to be the next gen version of the game, yet it felt like they rushed to get it out that they forgot to include the key elements which make the game so much fun.

I sent the game back the next day. I just want to know why they did they miss out so much. It was like a skeleton of the game.

PS4 was the best by far.

Answer: DON'T PLAY IT ONLINE! :p

Seriously, real multiplayer gaming will always beat out online for this kind of thing. I've never understood the appeal.
  • LarryLoxley #16 5 years ago

You pay for XBL, you buy a game that advertises a major feature as online play therefore we should expect it to work. To simply say don't play it online is missing the point. It can be done online very well so it is not a tech issue. If it was then there should be no online full stop as to charge for a feature which does not work is criminal.
  • Pachinko #17 5 years ago

It's also rather annoying to always play against Barca and Brasil and Chelsea, sorry, FC London, who are bloody impossible to stop. And not to get decent points when you beat someone with a score miles higher than yourself. Oh well.
  • brazzauk #18 5 years ago

Whoever say this patch makes things worse is talking nonsense. It much better online now and is much less lag free. Quick match works everytime and the game plays alot better. As for the shooting it just takes time to adjust.

I had given up on this game as an online game but couldn't stop playing it yesterday, I have stopped playing Fifa now and don't think I could go back.

But for god sake sort out Adriano, he is ridiculous in PES6 just cause he's on the cover. Didn't they watch the world cup???????? If it not him for Inter its bloody brazil.....

I seem to be one of the few that play with a variety of teams, not just the main ones as you mentioned above. Some of my favourites are Celtic, Benfica, Porto, Ajax, Atletico, valencia, heck even the likes of Everton and Bolton etc. My top two nationals are Czech and Nigeria. Variety is the spice of life man! People who are high ranked, then you duscover the last 5 teams they've used, aresnal, arsenal, brazil, brazil, lond fc, barca barca, its a joke. Fair enough people are entitled to their own team choice but picking the best ALL THE TIME makes it pretty redundant. Joining a league seems a better option, as some have non duplication, so only the first come first serve get the top teams.

EDIT: They've also made drogba unstupoable. Its so ridiculous, he bounces off peopl all the time. You could rob him of the ball, but he'll bounce into you and knock you off balance. I know he's strong, but they didn't have to make him a battering ram.

Patch helps things but is still not playing as it does offline, I played PES5 online and this didn't happen I'm fully expecting another patch which will make online play similar to offline, improve the goalkeepers - too many down the middle go past the goalies, apart from that theyre alright! Make a better edit system available for the 360 mode!!

think my wait might be in vain however!! but sying that i will never go to fifa so no point winjin!!
  • Muddtallica #21 5 years ago

Bargh...patching in console games. I never liked the concept, and I like it less now that it's a reality. I'd prefer they just kept the game in development a bit longer than rushing out an unfinished version...
  • miiiguel #22 5 years ago

wow..., patching is nice, and effortless patching even better. I don't notice any major difference appart from beeing easier to find/connect to a game.
Online play still plays almost allways perfect. Only thing that I'd really like to see was an option to refuse a challenge. C'mon, I played PES3 and now this, so I'm no pro and sometimes I come across some people that plays but this, and man, they DO play it well...

I love pro evo, but whats the point of scoring a scorching goal from 35 yards, if you cant save the bloody thing on your 20gb hard drive!!! totally ruins it for me. will you be able to get a patch for that? it says you can save in the manual!
  • fizzer25 #24 5 years ago

    @ Revaneleven

totally agree with ya how hard can it be to put this in the game?

come on konami don't let us down again
  • attep #25 5 years ago

This doesn't sound like what i had hoped for. Damn it offline PES IS the beautiful game - period. Online it's not great. Get a couple of mates over and enjoy playing against people in the same room not online. Least i kept PES5 for my PS2. :(
  • siro #26 5 years ago

I've also been a PES only player but changed to FIFA this year. Just so much more fun.

edit: Wait actually not so much more. But still. :)

    fuck FIFA and fuck you.
  • DoctorFraggle #28 5 years ago

The patch has made a good difference -- i can actually get a game now. Pretty lag free too!

The PES series seems to be going all out to make the most realistic footy sim possible but at the loss of the most important aspect of a video game ... FUN! Its been downhill all the way since PES4.

As for Adriano, maybe if enough of us nobble him online we can take him down a peg or two (?)
