EGTV: Exclusive Supreme Commander trailer News

News by Johnny Minkley

23 May, 2006

THQ's impressive stand at this year's E3 was something of an RTS frenzy, with the likes of Company Of Heroes, Dawn of War: Dark Crusade and Supreme Commander vying for attendees' attention.

Eurogamer TV is now showing an exclusive new trailer of the latter title, developed by Gas Powered Games, the guys who made Dungeon Siege and whose CEO Chris Taylor created Total Annihilation.

Set in the far flung future (the 37th century to be precise), THQ is billing Supreme Commander as the 'next evolution in RTS'. The rather thrilling four-minute trailer offers a detailed glimpse of the game in action, comprised entirely of in-game footage.

Due for release on PC in 2007, you can view the exclusive Supreme Commander trailer over at Eurogamer TV.

Man I was worried there would be too much going on in this game, but that looks so brilliantly awesome.

37th Century? I find it unlikely that there will still be naval ships.

a non-pre rendered, in-game, normal mapped polycount statistic free trailer and it looks awesome. I'm going to spend a PS3's worth amount of money on a new PC this christmas, I think.

wah! aparently the map in the demo is 1/16th the size of the biggest possible in the game. Finally an rts with enough space for a proper war, rather than ittie bittie battles.

What a wonderful way to present the game. RTS' trailers tend to be CG-only / boring ingame video / combination of both but this one finally kicks ass while actually showing us the gameplay.

"May just get me back into RTS games." +1

this will most likely be the first game to portray war, and not just battles!

Haven't checked out this trailer yet but there is some shakycam footage on YouTube of Chris Taylor's 10 minute E3 presentation where he explains some of the new gameplay features.

As requested.

Look for Supreme Commander E3 Presentation Part 1 of 2 and Supreme Commander E3 Presentation Part 2 of 2.

Much more detail than trailer.
