SiN coming to PlayStation 3?

Ritual hopes so, anyway.

Ritual's VP of development, Tom Mustaine, has confirmed that an Xbox 360 version of episodic shooter SiN is on the way - adding that they're up for doing a PS3 version, too.

In an interview with Ain't It Cool News, Mustaine said: "We’re gonna do a 360 version at some point in the future. We haven’t finalised those plans yet so I haven’t really announced it yet. But we will be doing it."

Mustaine went on to say that the episodes will likely be distributed via the Xbox Live Marketplace, before adding: "We also are hoping to be doing a PlayStation 3 version as well." And that's all he would say on the subject.

Important questions need to be asked here I think, such as: does anyone actually care?
  • Darkedge #3 6 years ago

only care if they improve it to more than a piss poor mod with terrible production values.
Is it just me or does the PS3 seem to be getting 1% original titles and the rest just ports/sequels?

LeDil, nice selfpwnage...its coming out on the 360 too. Only difference is at least the PS3 will have an HDD big enough to support downloads of this size.

On the SiN news the comments section was very luke-warm about the game in general. Some people raved on about it, some people say is sucked, and the majority said it was OK but not great.
However, a game with a source engine running on the 360/PS3 does interest me. And I really hope that HL2 is released on the 360 so that I can play it 'properly' (although the xbox version is more than good).

    @Furbs,
whoever said it would be released as a download? In fact I imagine it will be on a disc. And My 360 currently has 7GB free - is this not enough for Sin?
  • Teeth #9 6 years ago

Yeah, it was pretty funny that.

"so, like, if Sony slips you a few million
    right?"

I don't know if Sony is that stupid to blow it on SiN. :p

    The article.

Well in that case (I think he said "we're looking at marketplace";) the 360's HDD must be big enough.
Also worthy of note is that he did not mention a distribution system for PS3 - why? Because it doesn't presently exist.

Once you've played it you can just delete it, Live lets you download stuff you've paid for as many times as you like. That's basically why I think 20gb is a good size, most of the time you don't want to keep stuff that long anyway. Demos, trailers, things like that are pretty dated once the games themselves come out.

Of course, if many games employ this kind of distribution, you might have like.. three games you currently play on your HD at once, and then you'd be at around 12gb, but hey, MS will prolly release an HDD upgrade soon enough if you wanna get your multiple-episodic-games-downloads on.

    Yes.
Expect at least a 60GB drive for the 360 near november time.
