Caddy pack for PGR3

Free to you sir.

Good news for PGR3 fans: Bizarre and Microsoft have released some new free content. Yep that's "free" and not "two quid for some wheels" or something.

It's called the Cadillac V-Series Collection, and it's out on Live Marketplace now. In it you get three Cadillac V-Series cars, all boasting over 400 BHP - they are the CTS-V, the XLR-V and the STS-V.

What's more, Microsoft says that any Live competitor who places within the top 100 on the Nurburgring F1 race-track in a Caddy will get an exclusive gamer picture for their trouble.

Also, and I quote (because I've read the sentence seventeen times and the logic still can't penetrate my hangover): "PGR3 will continue to reward the top players sporting their new Cadillac Elite status by enabling future gamers to earn the gamer picture only by breaking one of the top 100 scores for that car's specific leaderboard."

The Caddy pack follows the recent release of the Speed Pack, which had loads of cars and Achievements and the like in it in a mixture of premium and free options.

I don't like the game that much...but the developers really get the meaning of Live. If only more games were community based...

Is it free because of the sponsorship? Microsoft seem to do a lot of that. Free is good though don't get me wrong. Just has a bit of an aftertaste.

In my view, if a car manufacturer wants to put their models in the game, and as gamers we get to play them for free, then there's no downside. Free is always good, and the fact that the truly dedicated will be rewarded is a very good thing.
    + 1 for Live I recon.

The Mclaeren F1LM leave you uninspired? Damn you're one tough customer! Do you want them to roll back the cities to the 1940's too. It would be cool sure, but it'd be a completely different game!

Have a fry-up and a coke, Tom. Always does the trick. :)

They did make a small mistake by not putting in a Jag E-Type, Merc Gulwing and similar older cars they had in previous games. Great cars and a shame i got to load up pgr2 for my classic car fix

At least the new cars are free and aint got sponser paint jobs like burnout on the 360

    "...and next on Fox...

    ...When in-game advertising goes good."

Why would anyone want to drive around London in a old Cadillac? Old Amercian cars (actually most American cars) have atrocious handling and were deisgned to be driven at 50mph on a straight freeway.

But I do think there should be more classic racing cars. A Porsche 917, a Chapparel and a couple of Bugattis would be a good place to start.

LOL Makes a top 100 time round the nurburgring in a Caddy! I love those Microsoft jokers! ... the idea that a Caddy could even get round the nurburgring is hillarious :)

Unless Bizare have tweaked them so they can actually GO AROUND corners now unlike most american cars.

BIZARE IF YOU READ THIS I WANT A VEYRON INGAME!

ManicMinerUK, my simple arguament is that that it would be a different game entirely.
PGR:Classic. Set in 1950's cities driving more classic cars.

The PGR series is all about the top-of-the-range vehicles going at the top-of-the-range speeds and doing stupid moves. To release an add-on that goes against this formula would be to bely the game entirely. It would be like adding an Iraq War map pack to COD2.

Just write to MS explaining your passion (and what with all the yankees you're far from being alone in this passion) and ask then if they'd be interested in a PGR:Cassics game.
I mean, the tarmac wasn't even as good in those days!

    No I'm Not! :p

OK you win if you want. I still really enjoyed PGR3.

This is the only kind of in-game-advertising I like to see more of in the future.

How many of you people whining about it being advertising would be complaining if they were free ferraris? Or free lambos?

Ford Racing or Mercedes Benz World Racing is advertising, and you have to pay for the privelege of being advertised to! This is a licensing deal that means Bizarre get some more money to carry on being a good company, Cadillac get some exposure and you get free cars, everybodys happy, stop whining!

Like someone else said, at least they're not shoving branding down your throat like Burnout!

Is there going to be a Caddy Pack 2 that adds in a mischievous gopher and Rodney Dangerfield to the game?

    Ooooooh...
  • Dreddnaught #16 6 years ago

Screw caddies, I just want my Mini's back !

I'm with Manic on this one. I've found PGR3 to be not even half the game of its predecessor. Why ? In my experience, fast cars are plain and simply, not fun.

Don't own a 360 but a big thumbs up for this kind of initiative.
