SingStar Popworld track listing

Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas and the female Bedingfield all set to make an appearance.

Sony has announced the full list of tracks for SingStar Popworld, the latest instalment in the hit karaoke series.

There are 30 new songs altogether, with everything from karaoke classics like Tom Jones' It's Not Unusual to chart-topper Shut Up by contemporary popular beat combo Black Eyed Peas.

The game is tied-in with Channel 4's Popworld show, and features an intro video with presenters Simon and Miquita. We're promised that S&M plus their pop star mates will be playing the game on the programme, which might or might not ease those Sunday morning hangovers.

Along with the original Pass the Mic and Duet modes, SingStar Popworld includes a new feature called 'Rap Scoring' which gives you extra points as you battle against your "crew" to see who is the "master of the mic" in an "MC showdown", word.

There's also something called Medley Mode which strings together short segments of five different songs, challenging you to get through the lot in one go. Sounds like fun, but impossibly hard when drunk.

SingStar Popworld will be heading straight to the top of the gaming hit parade, most probably, when it's released in May.

I expect they're saving Prince's 'Sexy Mother Fucker' for the next version.
  • Johnson #2 7 years ago

The female Bedingfield? That implies there's a male one.
  • Blerk #3 7 years ago

Will they include the uncut version of the 'Bohemian Like You' video with the full-frontal nudity?

Outkast - Roses - that'll be a popular one for the parents!
  • ssuellid #5 7 years ago

Johnson - you remember Daniel Bedingfield and "Gotta Get Thru This" from 2001. Loads of stuff in the paper/tv etc as he recorded it himself in his bedroom.

Roses instead of Hey Ya? Madness. Otherwise, looks a lot of fun.

Roses is better than Hey Ya imho. Prob a bit easier to sing in a karaoke stylee too.

Black Eyed Peas - Shut Up. Was there ever a song more perfectly titled?

They should do a rawk and metal one, Static X, American Head Charge, Iron Maiden, Dragonforce... brilliant.

You know, my girlfriend would always say she'd never loose any second on playing on the ps2. I made an experiment, buying Singstar and forcing her to sing with me in a duet. She plays it now alone!

Too much Knobbie Williams and McCrap for my liking. There are a few gems mind.

Stacy's mom is worth the entrance fee alone. *ahem* from what I've heard, of course. ;)

Bohemian like you is a welcome addition too, but it's much like the previous versions in that there are maybe five you'd sing, and three that are good to sing. It doesn't give it much of a lifespan, for me.

They have to do genre packs in order to push it - these catch all editions are going to get weaker on the ground.

    A game with S&M? Sounds good ;)

SingStar Popworld will be heading straight to the top of the gaming hit parade, most probably, when it's released in May.

Or alternatively, it'll scrape in at the lower reaches of the Top 20 for a week, before disappearing without trace. Again.

Some good, some bad, some meh.

My first impressions are better than Singstar Party anyway, and the inclusion of Robbie Williams will almost certainly justify the purchase to my Missus. :)
