BF2 Euro Force weapon details

Booster Pack shots and stats.

EA and DICE have released shots of Battlefield 2: Euro Force, the first of two planned "Booster Packs" for BF2 due out via digital distribution, and also talked about the seven new weapons included in the package on the new European Army side.

Those weapons are the semi-auto Benelli M4 shotgun (carried by Engineer), the FAMAS assault rifle (Medic), the P90 (Anti-Tank), the big old HK21 (Support), the HK53A3 assault rifle (Spec Ops), the L96A1 sniper rifle (Sniper), and the SA80 L85A2 (Assault), an upgraded variant of the British SA80 assault rifle that soldiers always complain about on the news.

DICE also talked a little about each. The Benelli was chosen as "a compromise between the full auto Saiga-12 and the Remington," while the HK53A3 is described as "the stereotypical 'special operations' type of weapon" and the SA80 upgrade with grenade launcher was "the perfect fit" in "looking for the assault to carry a very common EU gun".

Euro Force is due to go on sale on February 8th priced £5.99 or €9.99 outside the UK from www.downloader.ea.com. Along with seven new weapons, it'll have four new vehicles and three new maps, too - Operation Smoke Screen, The Great Wall of China and Taraba Quarry. Euro Force will be followed on March 28th by another Booster Pack, Armored Fury, more details of which can be found elsewhere.

    Nice weapons - although I dont see how the SA80 counts as a "very common gun" when its only us Brits that use it :p

    Hope the AT gun has some accuracy this time. Its no wonder so many people use the rockets as their primary anti-personnel weapon when you cant hit a barn door at 3 paces with their normal gun.

    I wonder what the new sniper rifle will be like..

    I wonder if you'll only be able to use the weps you unlock 1 in every 50 bloody games like in special forces :p

    I wonder if they've changed the 'english voices only' option to acutally be english voices only and not 'american voices for everyone'... lazy basts.

    Wobble - in SpecForces if you use the SAS you get proper plum in mouth English accents.

    I don't know much about EA downloader - is it any good? Can it do a Steam and remember what you've bought so that if you have to reinstall, you don't have to buy it again? Looking forward to these!

    And yeah, I agree that all sides should be speaking in accented-english! Unless you can know what each phrase means in another language, you have to check what's been said.

    So for added realism, will the SA80 jam on you when firing.....and the ammo mags fall out, and the cocking lever break off.......

    You forgot about playing on a middle east map, and having to stop every 5 steps to clean the sand out of the mechanism.

    HK53A3? Silly choice as is the SA80.

    Steyr Aug or Sig 550 instead of the SA80, and HK416 or FNC instead of 53

    @furbs, afaik not if you have 'english voices only' checked. that makes all teams use teh american voice, even the new english speaking ones :( (in spec forces)
