New SWAT 4 expansion
Due out early next year.
Vivendi has announced that a new expansion pack for PC shooter SWAT 4 is currently in development, releasing some screenshots into the bargain.
It's titled The Stechkov Syndicate and follows the adventures of the SWAT team as they take on an eastern European crime family that has taken up residence in the city. There are seven new single and multiplayer levels, new weapons and equipment for both SWATters and suspects and an additional multiplayer mode called Smash & Grab.
Not to mention voice over IP, 10 player co-op for up to two teams of five, stat tracking, ladders and rankings for multiplayer, and held commands - so in the single player mode, orders can be held until the leader says go.
SWAT 4 The Stechkov Syndicate is due out early next year.

I think it was the nightclub level I couldn't get past.....embarrassing. Didn't spend that much time playing it, it was released with loads of great games.

I found this advice in one of the VU games forums, amend your hosts file so windows resolves IP addresses for those filthy ad-men at massive incorporated to localhost - effectively disables any traffic to/from the sites listed and won't affect traffic to any other sites, remember to make a backup copy of 'hosts' first.
Find the 'hosts' file here....
Windows 95/98/Me c:\windows\hosts
Windows NT/2000/XP Pro c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Windows XP Home c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Q: How can I prevent my Windows XP computer from calling Massive Ads' servers with the v1.1 patch?
A: Simple. Go to "%WINDIR%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" and add the following entries:
127.0.0.1 madserver.net
127.0.0.1 ad.madserver.net
127.0.0.1 imp.madserver.net
127.0.0.1 media.madserver.net ----

Just 7 new singleplayer levels though, a little thin isn't it?
