Koei tweaks PAL titles

Atelier Iris and Disgaea sequels. Plus, pre-order bonuses.

Koei has tweaked the content of the PAL version of Atelier Iris 2 based on feedback from Japanese and US audiences, and will include a Japanese voice option in Disgaea 2 as well.

The publisher also announced that it's offering a range of pre-order treats for people who sign up to buy Atelier Iris 2, Disgaea 2 or Gitaroo Man Lives! through GAME.

Atelier Iris 2 is due out on PS2 this September 29th, bundled with a soundtrack CD, and anybody pre-ordering it from GAME will also receive an 8-inch musical statuette, a game character figurine and an artwork card as part of a Premium Box edition.

Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories is also due out on PS2 this autumn, and the UK version will offer a choice of a Japanese or localised Western voice-acting track, and will also come bundled with a soundtrack CD. Pre-orders will net a limited edition artwork book.

Finally, those of you looking forward to the enjoyable Gitaroo Man Lives! on PSP will be able to get your hands on five limited edition badges featuring game characters by pre-ordering from GAME.

I just hope they didn't forget to put the 60hz option in this time :p

Ah hell yes it was one of the complaints about the first Disgaea... the Japaneese voice thing i mean.

I missed out on the first Disgaea but ive heard only great things so ill defo pick up Disgaea 2!

Jap voicing could be cool.. i do certainly like to watch anime and foreign films i the original language with subs. The inclusion could be because the Eng voice actiing is just so terrible.

The English voiceovers in the original Disgaea were brilliant, so I wouldn't really be worried if they weren't putting the Japanese voices in really.

Well, if you're going to be playing a game for 80 odd hours, that 17.5% speed decrease soon adds-up. It wasn't PAL optimised at all.

Worth pointing out that anyone pre-ordering these with GAME will also be paying nearly ten pounds more than if you pre-order anywhere else on the 'net. The soundtracks are free, the other things are not.

Play.com has them @ £29.99, GAME.net has them @ £34.99, so it's not actually all that bad. The Disgaea 2 listing doesn't have a mention of the preorder bonuses, but the Atelier Iris 2 one does, and mentions that anyone who already had a preorder will automatically get the goodies.

edit: Okay, so Amazon has them @ £25.99, whatever...

Yeah, Amazon has them at £25.99 and Gameplay at £26.99. Considering GAME and Gameplay are actually the same company, that's quite a difference for just the extra bits n' pieces.

/is now used to paying the extra for JP Limited Editions

    /kinda puts £9 into perspective

    :)

So do you have to preorder at an actual GAME store, or can you do it through their website to get the special preorder gear?

Also, to the person who said GAME and Gameplay are the same company, I'm pretty sure that's not true, I think Gameplay are owned by dabs.com or BT or somebody like that.

Go to their website, or check tacticalrpg.com.

Danj: Completely OT, but are you the same Danj who posts on AOD?

Dammit. I've got the US Disgaea 2 release preordered - comes out in a week. Now I have to decide if the extras are worth paying more and waiting for two months for.
