TimeShift does a 360

Next-gen version due, PC slips.

Atari has hit us with a double whammy of TimeShift news, with the confirmation of the previously announced Xbox/PC title coming to Xbox 360 (hurrah!) and that erm… well, the PC version has slipped into 2006 (boooo).

Originally set for this autumn, the time-shifting (ah ha) first-person shooter developed by Sabre Interactive will find its PC release slip-sliding into spring next year, while the Xbox version hopefully remains on course for release in the next few months – although at the time of writing Atari couldn’t confirm this. Fingers crossed. Any changes, we'll let you know.

An Xbox 360 version is due around the same time as the PC iteration next year, so Microsoft-related platforms abound will be able to take part in the rather nice looking action-blaster, that allows you to stop, slow, speed-up, and reverse time. Better than it was done in Blinx, we hope.

Won't a Hard Disk be required then ;-)

Never even heard of it. Sabre Interactive, that's the team that did Will Rock, right?

Please Mister Developer, can we have another FPS on the PC and XBox? There just aren't enough!

Yes Timmy, you can! Because saturating a market is what we're good at these days. Why, we already have three sequels planned! It's a good thing that no-one expects any sort of creativity and imagination in veideogames these days! Ho ho ho! Now, which way is the bank?

    ...

    Sorry.

Deaner I'm not sure anyone buys creativity any more. When your investing that much cash in a project for release in an year when the consumer is struggeling just to pay their petrol bills no producer worth a damn is going to invest in an exotic, creative game...pity really, maybe when the economy is going a little better that will change.

This game looks incredibly promising. And more fun than FEAR too.

Well 360 will not have a lot of FPS in the beginning so I wouldn't mind a couple the first year or so to satisfy my online FPS needs. FEAR would be great as well...

You don't have to buy them you know deaner. I couldn't care less how many games of whatever type get released. There are many sources (this being one) by which I can filter the wheat from the chaff and what sits untouched by me on the shop shelf has little bearing on my living room.

EDIT: When I talk about wheat and chaff, I am of course talking about my personal prefs. The more games, the more choice, the more happy gamers, the more the industry grows, the more money I can borrow from the bank when I need another mortgage. Hurrah.

    All I'm saying is...

Look out for a just-like-grand-theft-auto title, coming soon from the same developer.

If its a good game, regardless of if its a clone or not, I'll buy it.
Good game thats fun > creativity
