MotoGP demo released

Why not take it for a spin?

A playable demo for MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3, THQ's new m0t0rb1k3 racer for PC and Xbox, is now available for download.

Weighing in at 145MB, it includes the Le Mans track for the Grand Prix class and a night-time Tokyo circuit for the Extreme Classes, playable not only in a choice of multiplayer modes but Quick Race and Time Trial solo modes too.

As previously reported, URT3 features something called "embedded gameplay" to let you switch seamlessly between online and offline play, and there are fully licensed riders, tracks and bikes from the real-life 2004 MotoGP season.

MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3 is due out on September 2.

I thought the series had moved to PS2. Apparently not, huzzah. I haven't bought any of these yet - is there any real reason to get one of the nwer versions instead of the original, which is available dirt cheap?

There's absolutely no reason to get this game over the older versions, unless you're so picky that you want all the riders in their current teams.
The game feels exactly the same as MotoGP2, the graphics are near enough identical, give or take an environment mapped surface here and there. Nothing special at all. A bit of a disappointment tbh, although I did expect the graphics to be nothing fancy (judging from the screenshots) I had hoped to find more new features in there (admittedly, it's only a demo, so who knows...)

Have anybody tried the Xbox demo - how is the framerate compared to MotoGP 2 ?

GP2's framerate was a bit "choppy" at times, hopefully this has been fixed...
