Wallace & Gromit film licenced

Konami has announced that it's set to publish Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, the Frontier Developments created videogame tie-in for the forthcoming feature length film of the same name.

It's the first time Aardman Animations' most popular characters will be seen on the big screen in a movie that features the voices of Helena Bonham-Carter (Lady Tottington) and Ralph Fiennes (Victor Quartermaine).

The Curse of the Were-Rabbit videogame will closely follow the storyline of the film, which is described as "a tale of giant vegetables, terrifying lupine beasts and inventions gone awry." Wallace, Gromit and new character Hutch are all playable, and there many puzzles to solve and gadgets to find throughout the game's free-roaming environments.

"The game has given us the opportunity to create a more adventurous environment for the characters. Deeper storylines, that couldn't be accommodated in the film, have been developed and are there ready to be explored," commented Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park.

"The Were-creatures, for example, was a theme we would have loved to have included in the film. I'm delighted to say that they are here in the game."

"The film is certain to be a massive success and we look forward to its fans playing this fun and enjoyable game," said Konami Europe president Kunio Neo.

"We are certain they will love its inventiveness and the chance to interact and further enjoy the unique humour of Wallace & Gromit within its many stages."

Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit will be released on PS2 and Xbox in conjunction when the movie hits cinemas this October.
