The instructions of a camera man? That doesn't sound like Amped at all.

It died after 2!

3 was terrible. After that I had to play on the GBA versions.

"the most unique, robust and realistic skateboarding game experience ever."

So a lot more falling over and ended carreers due to horrific vert ramp injuries.

Having seen some footage of Tony Hawk at E3 I came to the conclusion that he really is getting too old for all this stuff, and surely what little credibility he must have on da street wit da kidx is drying up at the same rate his face is.

None of the features listed so far make it sound like that much of a revolution.

Following instructions? Earning respect? Whooptie-freakin-doo.

"...where you must perform loads of tricks for a photo shoot, or follow the instructions of a cameraman."

Haven't they already done that in earlier THPS games?

I always say to myself "It is just the same game as before". And then play 24 hours straight just to get my hand coordination skills back on track. 1 was good, 2 was great, 3 and 4 were great but more-of-the-same, and the two thug... well, I've played them and the standard skate parts are ace as usual, but the rest is just too rough on the edges (but the final mission in thug 1 is still one of the best challenges ever created for a tony hawk game).
All in all... I'll be buying this. And playing it 24 hours straight. No matter what.

After seeing the tony hawks vid on xbox live market place the game looks alot more realistic, i played the first 2 games but lost all interest as it was an arcade game and nothing like actually skating. This game looks to change that with the trailer showing some real classic tricks pulled off by the likes Rodney Mullen and others and they looked mint. I hope they stop the arcade rubbish and make it more real

/sarcasm on
I often see people link up 30+ tricks down the local skate park linking them together like ingame
/sarcasm off

The physics and body movements in the vids I've seen looked really good, much more realistic and you can see each skaters different styles rather than all of them looking more or less the same. Good stuff.

And yeah, less of the bullshit over the top moves and a bit more realism ala the Thrasher game that was on PS1 puleeeze.

Ouch! The only thing I enjoyed about the first games was the arcadeyness! I'd certainly buy a new one for the 360, but I'd be a little bit worried if the game play is "realistic". There's no direct corralation between "realism" and "fun" if you ask me.

In the meantime, lets give up on RPGs, FPSes, Platformers and Football games, they've been done to death too.

YAWN!!!!!
I hated THAW and this doesn't sound that much like a step up, I'll reserve proper judgement though till I at least see some footage.

Photshoot goals have been in the series since 3 if I remember correctly...

At least it has the generational leap thing going for it.

It was going stale on the same platform. Perhaps I'll check it out for its spiffy graphics.

well it's still being developed for last gen too, this can only hold back it's full potential...just look at THAW on 360...criminal.
