Assassin's Creed details
DLC, co-op, date estimate.
Ubisoft's PlayStation 3 stealth-action title Assassin's Creed will offer downloadable content, co-operative missions and should be out in Europe at the beginning of 2007, according to the US Official PlayStation mag.
As you will know if you've been following our coverage of the game since E3, Assassin's Creed is an old-days stealth-'em-up set in amongst the crusades, where players disguise themselves and take advantage of the crowd to take people out.
If you've not been keeping up, now might be the time to start before it sneaks up and stabs you in the wallet. There's an E3 trailer on Eurogamer TV as well as a video interview with Ubisoft Montreal creative director Patrice Desilets.
On top of that, we've got a big preview based on the game's behind-closed-doors E3 showing.

Why would downloadable content hint at a 360 version?!
All PlayStation 3 titles are likely to have some kind of online content or play. We're not in the PlayStation 2 domain anymore...

doesn't this kind of confirm Playstation's online service is on par with XBL if they'r doing co-op.
which i don't think was done on the PS2 ever.

Thats all I have to say.

I'd love playing co-op for free, which I hope it is.

+1
Still a woefully underused gameplay mode right now, especially with excellent online services like Live!, HUB* and NiWiFi from all the major players.
* I'm prognosticating here, obviously.

The coop might be nice, if its any good, this might actually persuade me to keep one of the PS3's for this.
EDIT: Unless there is a 360 or pc version on the way of course. No point in buying a console for one game...
/looks @ his NGC with a handfull of games.
Hmm, oke, it is.

The PS3 by default has a HDD, while the 360 doesn't (it would be interesting to know what percentage of 360s have HDDs). This alone surely makes it a better candidate for DLC.

I'll add myself to the bandwagon. Cause we all know there'll be an Xbox 360 version. Ubi Soft don't do console exclusives when it comes to theri big games. Some might be timed, such as Splinter Cell for Xbox, and Sands Of Time for PlayStation 2. But ports are always inevitable. Really looking forward to this one!

But surely there must be a stable and consistant online service to even attempt online co-op on the system.
I don't think we saw online co-op on the PS2's broken down service so it must be a step up.
