Ninja Gaiden for Xbox 360?

EB thinks about it and decides not to sell new NG game after all. Unless...

It's been nearly a year since Team Ninja's Tomonobu Itagaki confirmed that a Ninja Gaiden sequel was in the works. Since then nothing, until now - courtesy of US online retailer EBGames.

If you searched for Ninja Gaiden on the EB site just a day or two ago, you'd have been given the option to pre-order a game called Ninja Gaiden Black. The listing, which has now been removed, gave a release date of "September 2005".

Which is the same month that Xbox 360 looks most likely to launch, interestingly. So forgive us if you think we're being presumptive here, but couldn't this mean that the next Ninja Gaiden title is for a next-generation platform?

Well, we'll just have to wait and see. EB didn't offer any more details, but seeing as the last Ninja Gaiden title was a bit of a killer app for the current Xbox, we're hoping they just might use it to show off Xbox 360 at E3. Keep your katanas crossed...

    Wow, it's really weird.

I got totally fooled by the Vivendi Universal thing about Sierra. I am a moron.

Have you seen the 'Quake 4 Announced' story? Didn't EG run the same story just last week? 2001, 2005, it doesn't really matter - the news is exactly the same! \o/

Hmm... the clock reset isn't a BAD thing IMO... it's reminded me to go play Paper Mario again.

    "Ryu Hyabusa

I will be going full circle...."

I guess I'm the only one that found this post somewhat funny (for some odd, random reason).

Anyways it's most likely this is true. I remember itakgi (or whatever) saying before that they had stopped development of any project for the xbox. So when a game is listed around the same launch as the xbox360 (or is it now xbox HD?), it's most likely gonna be for the next console.

Hmmm, PGR3, Perfect Dark Zero, Ninja Gaiden Black? Oh my.

How do retailers actually learn about new games? If this was a mistake by EB was it because of information from MS or Tecmo?

No surprise really, Microsoft want to overtake sony in this generation - and to do that they need to at least sell a couple of dozen consoles in japan. and if microsoft know two things about japan, its that they like japanese made games and only buy stuff if its a 'special edition', so whats the guessing they'll make a special fancy coloured xbox to go alongside it.
