Wario Ware dated in US

Not out until January.

The Nintendo Wii version of Wario Ware won't be released in the West until after Christmas by the looks of things.

Nintendo has confirmed the game is due out in the US on 15th January, despite showing up as a launch title in Japan, and there's been no official word on a European date.

That's a bit of a shame, as Wario Ware has been widely acclaimed as one of the most exciting of the Wii's early games. Certainly from our experience with it, it rekindles a sense of innovation and hilarity that was sorely lacking from the DS version.

Still, hopefully it won't be long before European Wii consumers will be chopping, balancing, pumping and steering their way through Wario's latest. We'll let you know.

Nintendo Wii itself, of course, is due to launch in Europe on 8th December, following a 19th November US launch.

According to the Greek representative of Nintendo Wii Play consists of Table Tennis, Fishing, Shooting Range, Billiards, Find Mii, Poser Mii, Laser Hockey.

You can see a couple of screenshots here (text is in Greek though).

Hmm the cover also sports a cow, a tank and some UFO's...
SO maybe that shooring range is actually the sequel to 'duck hunt' entitled 'cow hunt'?
Using the tank cannon to obliterate those walking milk factories...

Unfortunately I don't understand greek so I could be a bit off though...
    Thanks for the link :)

AcidSnake, you're not missing anything important; they just describe the included games as something that takes advantage and demonstrates all of Wiimote's unique characteristics (along with the Mii channels) and teaches both gamers and their families how to use it.

Market-ish speak mostly, they even mention that the Japanese title for Wii Play means "Your first Wii steps" (mine translation from theirs).

Other than that nothing solid, so your guess is as good as mine.

    Thanks for the translation...
But what about the orchestra subgame?
Was it only a demo or will it be released?

Now I'm going to have to decide whether to get Wii play at launch as well...

peterfll - I hear you, man! I can never understand the criticism that WarioWare: Touched gets. OK, it wasn't as innovative as the original, and wasn't as feature-packed as Twisted, but for my money it was hands down the most fun, and clearly the best presented. I played that game compulsively for weeks, in contrast to Twisted, which I've still not finished.

Sucks that Smooth Moves is delayed, cause I heard from numerous reports that it was in a lot of ways the best showcase of the Wiimote's potential yet...would have been a great launch title, or even a pack-in! Still, I don't doubt it'll be good...what I hope is that they'll continue their trend of having at least one really kickass song in each game. The original had that Kill Bill-esque Japanese ballad over Kat and Ana's games, Touched had Ashley's Theme ("Who's the girl next door living in the haunted mansion, you'd better be afraid of the great Aaaashley!!!";), and Twisted had the seminal classic Mona Pizza ("This here is Mona Pizzaaaa, makers of the world's best eats-aaaa...";). If Smooth Moves doesn't contain a song that I'm singing for weeks, I'll be sorely disappointed. :D

Buggerfucks, that's easily one of the best titles I've played on the Wii...

Wonder if they'll use the same lame excuses here for not releasing it that they used with Wario Ware Twisted.

6 and a bit weeks to go for us lesser mortals.

I get what you mean about the DS version. However, we're still waiting for Twisted over here, aren't we? Is that ever getting released?

Ds version was pretty good, though to be fair its nowhere near as good as twisted!

there's been no official word on a European date.

This shit is exactly what I've come to expect from Nintendo, and with the Wii being region-locked, this is also the reason I absolutely refuse to buy one.

Shame. I was planning on buying a Wii with Zelda and Wario before christmas.
