Trailers, map packs on XBL
First day's TGS 360 haul.
Content going on Xbox Live Marketplace today includes a trailer for Half-Life 2: Episode Two, another for Tenchu Senran and a Tokyo Game Show picture pack.
You'll also be able to get your hands on a couple of Battle for Middle-Earth II map packs - the first, Aragorn's Journey, will be free between today and 29th September, while the second, Northern Badlands, will set you back 350 Microsoft points.
Today's update will also add Xbox Live Vision camera support to Spades, Hearts, Backgammon and Bankshot Billiards on Xbox Live Arcade.
Meanwhile, Japanese Xbox 360 owners will be able to download the Dead or Alive X2 E3 trailer, a Project Sylpheed trailer and a playable demo of Tenchu Senran.
That's all according to Xbox Live's Major Nelson, who also reveals that a five-minute cut of the Tokyo Game Show briefing delivered earlier will make it onto Live Marketplace later today.
Microsoft's planning to release a lot of content between now and 29th September to mark the passage of Tokyo Game Show and X06.
And in Europe, Xbox Live Gold access will be available to everyone for free between now and 8am GMT on 30th September.

It was reduced last week...to no fanfare at all. And I downloaded it. And it annoys me that it is supposedly going to be free now. Grrrr.
EDIT: Reduced last week to 350 points.

Its worth setting up a Jap account for the fun of it, that and to see some trailers that are'nt on the rest of the Marketplace.

The character creation seems quite nice, if a little basic.

I just spent the better part of 35 minutes in one area, staking everything out and then slowly moving through killing everyone.
The create a ninja that you have to go through will hopefully be fleshed out alot more because its seriously lacking at the moment, some of the control mapping could be a little better aswell.
Oh and the DOA trailer is exactly the sameone we already have. BAH.
The Sylepheed trailer is made of lol, melodrama and nice looking in-game visuals. oh and LAZORS! We don't get it because its full of spoken Japanese and itll take awhile to subtitle.

It's still a nice game, but they really couldn't justoify a £50 price tag. The series simply hasn't evolved in the same way as, say, Hitman has. It's an improvement on the last tenchu game, for sure, but its a PS2 game at heart - and they haven't even bothered to disguise that fact in the same way the developers of Tomb Raider of Just Cause have.

The visuals might not be uber, but they work.
Ill also add I wont be paying £40 for it. If its Region Free than itll be imported, if not Ill wait for it to drop in price.

As for the comments on Tenchu,
I can't really hold any judgement, considering I've only seen the stills and CG - however, I most likely WILL end up buying it, so long as there's enhanced AI. Seriously, is it me, or were the previous games' AI worse than headless chickens in a marching parade?

Probably to try and lighten the load on the Arcade and allow more room for Marketplace downloads, what with them doing all this Bringing It Home thing this week.

Yes, the banner says it's free for a limited time but it's listet as 350 points... maybe only free for UK and US players ... that sucks, MS!

After playing it again last night, i'm not having that. I'm sorry, but resolution and viewing distance aside, the PS2 has games with more detailed environments/better character models. The animation is still appaling, and the engine still doesn't seem to be able to cope very well with your character gripping an angular surface. I'm not saying that every game has to look like GRAW or Gears of War or anything, but it really would be nice if they'd made an effort and disguised the fact that im playing a glorified PS2 games, perhaps with some simple filtering or lighting or something. Its not as if the power is being used in other areas - the AI still feels like its been largely borrowed from Tenchu I. I know that graphics don't make the game, but Tenchu feels like a PS1 game upgraded for the PS2 and then released on the 360.
