Team Fortress 2 trailer News

PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3
News by Tom Bramwell

20 July, 2006

Just last week, you may recall, Valve announced that Half-Life 2: Episode 2 will ship with the long-awaited sequel to Team Fortress.

They also presented a rather spanky trailer showcasing TF2's new cartoon-style graphics and character classes - and now it's yours to view over on Eurogamer TV.

Team Fortress 2 is due to ship alongside Ep 2 at the end of this year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, if everything goes to plan. Here's hoping it does.

Are you sure about PS3 and 360. It has been stated that TFC2 will not be included on the consoles.

Would be great if TFC2 was included on the consoles.

Weird style, hope it works.

-EDIT-

It's slightly different to how they originally intended - take a look.

EG, can we once and for all get clarification on whether the TF2 (and Portal) is or isn't included in the 360 (and PS3) version of the HL2 pack-in ??

Each time you mention anything on TF2 you mention it being on the 360 version, yet there is no official line on whether it is or not.

Ta in advance !

Quote from Steam news site as of 14th July:

Team Fortress 2 and Portal will be included with all retail and Steam versions of Episode Two for the PC. In addition, these products plus Half-Life 2 and Episode One will be available in one tremendous offering for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Looks like they are then...

I loved Team Fortress. That of Quakeworld was just pure glorious gloryness. I like the way they've taken the style. It sets it nicely apart from DoD and CS, which is where it should be.

OMG

This has taken away ALL interest I had in this game since it was announced over 5 years ago.

The videos of it before were SOO much better. It was like CS military style... now its a cartoon kids game.

Oww well to each his own. Portal stuff looks awesome tho....

The fact that people like smoison can also be called gamers makes me puke.

That's a little unfair Grim, would you look forward to playing a game involving barbies, teddy bears and my little ponies - even though it was actually extremely good once released?

Some people want realism, some people want fantasy. Some people don't care.

Some people ought to widen their horizons, then. And smoison specifically makes the point that this looks like a childrens' game, which it clearly doesn't. Why does he make such a ludicrous claim? Well, there's really no telling. Maybe his clan mates would laugh at him if they knew he wasted his time on TF2 rather than ... oh, say CS1.6?

This had better be a huge success. If nothing else, then to prove plebs like smoison is a minor minority. Which means other developers can start putting some style into their games. Then, maybe later, they'll manage to put in some substance as well.
