PES6 360 bundle next week News

Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

19 October, 2006

Konami and Microsoft are teaming up on a Pro Evolution Soccer 6 Xbox 360 premium hardware bundle, due out on 27th October priced GBP 299.

Konami's busy hosting its annual Pro Evolution Soccer Media Cup tonight at the Emirites Stadium in London, and our men on the ground report that the above announcement's due to be made there very shortly.

For the sake of absolute clarity, the bundle consists of an Xbox 360 premium console (including one wireless controller, 20GB hard drive, 30-day trial for Xbox Live Gold, headset, component HD AV cable with SCART adapter, and ethernet cable) along with a copy of the game.

The PES6 bundle. People sold separately.

It's going to be sold in the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Nordics, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Portugal and Greece.

PES6 is also due out on PlayStation 2 and PC on the 27th, but is a next-generation exclusive on Xbox 360 - at least until next year.

Microsoft has arranged a similar exclusivity deal for FIFA 07, which is due for release on Xbox 360 on the same day.

Look out for our reviews of both in the days before release.

Oh man. Microsoft are too clever, well not that it'd take a genius to create this tempting bundle. Do we know if the bundle is just Premium with PES6 or is there a free controller too?

Apparently not, no, but we're told it's a proper box and not just a pack-in like the Gotham bundle was.

Almost tempted, but it'd need two joypads.

So it looks like that mythical Fifa review is going to happen afterall. :)

I know it doesn't concern Europe with the delay and all but EG missed a flurry of new PS3 info on Sony Gamer day... today

What happened? Bitter at Sony or something? :D

I wonder what the price is gonna be in Euro's.. It would be nice if they sold it for 399, the price of a regular Xbox 360 Premium package.. Which would mean you get PES6 bassicly for free..

I also like the fact MS choose to go with PES6 and not that half-assed '75% less content' FIFA07 for the Xbox 360..

That whole next-gen football exclusivity thing sorta went out the window when Sony pushed the PS3 release to next year, seeing as the deal only covers 2006...

Not impressed. GameStation are offering the Premium bundle with extra pad and PGR3 for £279.99. You can PX the pad for £18 and PGR3 for £18, leaving the total price £244.99. Then get GameStation to price match Tesco or Argos for PES6 (£39.99). That leaves total bundle price at £284.99.

Stoopid PES6 bundle.

Not really news, Play.com has had this offer up for £10 less for the last week anyway, who cares if it's a proper bundle or not!

But it really should get more people buying 360's, if the only way to play a next-gen version of the best version of the most popular best in the world isn't going to get more into homes, then i don't know what is!!!

Had my copy of the game on pre-order for months, i really can't wait!!!!

This is a very impressive deal!!!

Football (also known as soccer) is very popular in these countries! Xbox 360 is already popular in each of those countries, but with a deal like this, the Xbox 360 will once again be one of the most popular 2006 Christmas gifts.

The Xbox 360 is the only videogame system that will allow these sports games to be played with high-definition graphics and true 5.1 sound.

Response to Laws,

Laws, my friend, trust me, the Playstation 3 is a BIG disappointment. Even USA Today national newspaper gave the Playstation 3 the Biggest Disappointment award due to its poor library of games.

Yahoo website also agrees with that analysis. When Yahoo was reviewing the Wii, Yahoo took the time to point out that the Xbox 360 would be the best system to purchase this Christmas of 2006, simply because the Xbox 360 has the largest and best library of games and features. Yahoo also pointed out that this wouldn't change anytime soon, which means the Xbox 360 can be considered futureproof.

It would be an excellent idea to get yourself an Xbox 360 this year. There are some GREAT deals currently in place in Europe and Japan.
