New Battlefield 2 map coming

Will be released with next patch.

DICE has announced that a new patch is currently in development for hit PC shooter Battlefield 2 - and that it'll offer new content as well as bug fixes.

According to a post on the BF2 website, DICE recognises "that this has been a very trying time for everyone who enjoys Battlefield 2", but promises to make "every effort to improve upon the issues that are causing some players frustration."

So, you can expect the new patch to offer all sorts of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks. It'll also include a new map - Road to Jalalabad, which has only been running on test servers so far.

DICE confirmed that the Open Beta for the patch will begin in early July - but there's no word on when it'll be officially released just yet.

    A new map - and for nothing! It's been a long time coming, but maybe EA are listening. Or maybe they're just buttering us up for when 2142 hits the shelves.

    Either way, I hope they're starting to realise that every multiplayer shooter gets a few freebie maps in its lifetime, and that's the way it should be.

    wow are people still playing this game
    broken patch after broken patch
    charging for content
    not fixing long going bugs
    I loved this game, wasted long hours on it, but the support and money-grabbing tactics made me stop playing it
    yeah I know, moan moan moan, but people still play cs, while in a couple of years no one will playing bf2 for sure
    so much potential wasted, just wasted

    What about fixing the voice comms for the 360 version?

    Its a bloody disgrace that its been broken for so long.

    BF2 hasnt worked for me since 1.3, really pissing me off. Cant believe I have to wait another month before it "may be resolved".... wankers.

    BF2 is by far my favourite online game, but I play CS far more...BF2 isn't even installed on my system at the moment. Go figure.

    /figures that coojam either hates the players or the rubbish patches which change the gameplay completely every other time. Or both.

    Lol...was kinda a figure of speach. I actually don't mind the patches...I stuck with 1942 throughout, but bf2 hasn't drawn me back in for some reason.
