Full Auto X360 demo due soon News

Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

18 January, 2006

A demo of Pseudo Interactive's Full Auto should be released on Xbox Live Marketplace on January 25th, according to SEGA.

What's more, American pre-orders for the game, due out on Feb 14th over there, will get a free Full Auto faceplate for their Xbox 360s.

Forgotten what Full Auto is? Think Burnout with guns and rewind (called "unwreck"), done up to take advantage of the Xbox 360's capacity to make lots of stuff break and explode all at once. Now stop thinking the Burnout bit, because it turns out it's a bit of a facile analogy.

More on that in the next few days though, when our impressions of the game should EXPLODE onto the website for onomatopoeic justice.

Full Auto should be out in Europe in the second half of February, we reckon. If SEGA says different, we'll, er, unreckon. Teehee.

Don't have a 360, but this game piques my interest...

I've already played the demo as it was on the demo disc that came with issue 3 of OXM360 last month.

Unfortunately the game is pretty ordinary really with an iffy framerate and popup so unless this new demo is radically improved I'll be giving the full game a miss.

There should be some kind of calendar (is there?) to ease me out of my addiction of checking out the marketplace every time I turn on the console -- lately it's been a couple of times a day.. But, it'll wear off I'm sure.. Possibly just a "new toy" syndrome.

The demo is in no fit state for public consumption. Its framerate issues are ridiculous.

Unfortunatley a lot of demos need to be released 3 or 4 months before the game is ready (to hit the magazines for the game luanch).

And therefor dont play as well as the final game. Which is a shame!

That was true of the MFMC demo for the original xbox, the pause which occured every so often totally put me off the game until I found out it was not in the retail version. Not as in-depth as the pc version, but unbeatable with friends over live with voice comms. If only it worked on the 360, i'm fed up of plugging and unplugging the component leads all the time.

Games which should be backward compatible;

Operation Flashpoint
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Battlefield Modern Combat

Microsoft, make it so. Thank you.

Backwards compatible wishlist (I never had an xbox)

Psychonauts (pleeeeease!)
The Warriors
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay
Prince of Persia series (all three)

Also, it's the middle of January already, and there's no additions to the compatibility list this month.. Get cracking, people!

It's a shame all demos aren't available via the Live Marketplace in line with their release on the OXM360 demo discs, as this was available some weeks ago via that channel. But then I guess if they did that no-one would buy the mag.

The Full Auto demo on the OXM disc was utter shite. I hope they improve the feel of the cars, I played 3 laps and put the game down in disgust...

Ever since I saw the first video of this game I know I would have apsolutly no interest in this game. Hell if it didn't have Sega's name on the box, no one would even take notice of this. Looked crap from the start.

Yeah, I'm all for the guns and all that, but the arcadey locked off streets with arrows turns me off.. If only it was more open ended, kind of like an update of Interstate '76, that'd be cool.. (Man, that game was awesome.)
