Sonic Gems news
Streets of Rage included.
As we reported last month, SEGA has a treat in store for long time Sonic fans this summer with the release of Sonic Gems Collection for PS2 and GameCube.
SGC includes Sonic CD, Sonic The Fighters, Sonic R and six Sonic Game Gear titles - but that's not all, it seems.
According to reports from Japan, Sonic Gems will also feature all three instalments in old days beat-em-up series Streets of Rage. Mega Drive classic Bonanza Brothers will make an appearance, too.
SEGA did promise us some "other suprises" when SGC was first announced, and apparently these are just the first to be revealed. We'll bring you more news when we get it, but in the meantime, Sonic Gems screenshots can be found here.

Anyway given Sega's shoddy compilations so far, I think I'll just be sticking to the old ROMS.

Surely they're better than nintendo adding a single 'classic' to a gba cart and charging us almost full wack for the privilege (who actually bought those?!).

I think the game choices have been good but the way they have been ported leaves a lot to be desired. All of the Sonic games run a good deal slower than they do on the MD. Not to mention the slow down when you spin through blocks etc.
