Bad Day LA demo
Trying American.
American McGee's Bad Day LA is now available in demo form, featuring a small section where Santa Monica is struck down by some biological terror. Apparently all that fits into just 260MB of demo, too.
The full game is due out on PC and Xbox later this year, and sees Los Angeles struck by a series of disasters - not just natural, as we remarked yesterday, but also some set upon the residents of LA by The Terrorists. Perhaps they brought books to the beach.
A collaboration between McGee - best known for his work with id Software and subsequently American McGee's Alice - and Enlight, Bad Day LA is a game you can find out lots more about by exploring our archive of movies and screenshots. And of course by playing the demo.

Nice idea, VERY poorly executed.
Shame they didnt keep the look of the movie in game (probs down to lack of graphical oomph). The missions were tired and repetitive, I had people starting to hate me for no reason..
Getting thru the levels was god awful, some vehicles/etc you can jump over, others have an invisible wall. And as for going the "wrong way" to be told that you cant go that way *GAH!* It was like being in a 10 year old game!
Demo didnt do itself any favours by being the first level with the tutorial in it, i'd have prefered to be launched in at the deep end.
Not good. Video made it look ooh so much better.

McGee can hear a little song in his head - 24 little hours..... perhaps the 360's and PS3's upgrades may have come in useful....

Me thinks it's been writen for the lowest powered pc (or ps2) in mind.
Im sure the extra power the wii has wouldve been enough to do it
(wouldnt have stopped the demo being shit though)
