US OutRun 2006 PC delayed

What about Europe?

SEGA's decision to release OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast on four formats simultaneously always sounded a bit too good to be true - particularly for PC fans used to getting console leftovers several months later - and in the US at least it now looks like it was.

An update to the game's American website this week adjusts the PC version's release date to April 11th, with the PS2, Xbox and PSP versions due out on March 21st.

The good news is that it probably won't affect us. When we asked if the Sumo Digital-developed racer would lag behind on the PC over here too, said, "currently we're planning on all formats 31st March".

Well, the Xbox owners didn't buy this game for some reason so it's their loss really.

To be honest I felt the biggest problem with the original XB Outrun 2 was its delay that put it head-to-head against Electronic Arts mega marketing release of Burnout 3: Takedown, that really hurt it.

I just hope the XB, PS2 & PSP releases don't move as this is my "game of year", it's the only game I'm really anticipating after playing so many fun filled hours of the XB original.

    Heart attack mode FTW!!!11!!1!

I'm tempted to get this game on the PC rather than the Xbox so I can play it at a decent resolution. I already own OutRun 2 on the Xbox and it still doesn't run on the 360!

Of course, having the Xbox version of OutRun 2: C2C backward compatible would be nice as many Xbox games look nice at 720p with anti-aliasing but that's very unlikely isn't it as we'll have to wait a year for it to be officially supported on the 360...
