Dave Jones' MMO turf war title due in 2007

Korean firm Webzen to publish GTA creator's online opus.

Former DMA Design man Dave Jones and his Dundee-based development studio Real Time Worlds have signed their massively-multiplayer turf war title to South Korean publisher Webzen and plan to launch it in 2007.

All Points Bulletin - or APB for short - is an MMOG where players form into law-breaking Gangs and law-bringing Squads and duke it out for control of "precisely replicated" cities taken from all over the world.

APB will allow players to customise their appearance, weapons, vehicles and so on to match their attitude, and all in all sounds a bit like PlanetSide meets Grand Theft Auto. Which wouldn't be a bad thing, really, would it?

"As an avid gamer and creator of many single-player games, it has been my dream to create an online game experience that provides the player with the ultimate freedom to do whatever he wants, in a thriving, living environment," says Dave.

It's just a pity we'll have to wait until 2007 at the earliest to play it.
