Bungie vet's new studio

Not necessarily MS-exclusive.

Former Bungie team lead Max Hoberman has told GamesIndustry.biz that his new studio, Certain Affinity, won't necessarily develop games exclusively for Xbox and Xbox 360 - despite a close relationship with Microsoft.

Certain Affinity officially opened its doors earlier this week, announcing that its first project would be to develop multiplayer maps for Halo 2 in partnership with Bungie Studios and Microsoft Game Studios.

It's also planning to produce a title for Xbox 360, details of which have yet to be announced.

Head over to GamesIndustry.biz for the full report.

Sounds like he is trying to leverage his reputation.

i.e he wants M$ to shell out more $ if they want him to remain exclusive.....Not a bad thing i guess.,..

"won't necessarily develop games exclusively for Xbox and Xbox 360"

Well it would be stupid to make games for the original Xbox now!

Why not? You can still get new Dreamcast games in Japan...

Just because it's "Last-gen", doesn't mean the machine itself is dead... it'll be quite some time before they cut off software support for the X-Box...

    so not bungie then.....

Difference with Dreamcast is that the Arcade version - Naomi still get games released for its cabinets. So they might as well release them for Dreamcast since its a trivial process to port them. There wouldnt be any new Dreamcast games otherwise.

Theres not much point in starting development on new xbox games now, as the games wont sell well. Many original xbox owners have moved onto the 360, as thats where all the Live action is now.

Theres still some xbox games on the way, a few budget titles, and film licsences that were already in development for a while. But this wont last much longer, you cant compare it with Dreamcast, as Xbox just doesnt have the same cult following

This probably just means they'll do PC stuff. I wouldn't get any "hopes" up that Max will be doing PS3 stuff anytime soon...

When was the last Xbox exclusive game released?

What do Xbox exclusive titles have to do with Xbox software support?

I think it's quite sad that time is chipping away the guys who made Bungie such an awesome developer. Hardly any of the pre-MS buyout guys are left. :(
