Full Auto 2 to miss PS3 launch News

PlayStation 3 News by Tom Bramwell

15 November, 2006

Having previously pledged both Sonic the Hedgehog and Full Auto 2: Battlelines to the PlayStation 3's US launch, now it turns out SEGA won't be there with either.

Sonic has already been set back until December, and now it looks like Full Auto 2 is suffering the same fate, with a spokesperson telling IGN that it's "targeting an early December ship date".

Full Auto 2 - the sequel to a fairly mediocre Xbox 360 original - is also due out on PlayStation Portable, as announced on Friday.

The PS3 version's absence means that the PS3 launch line-up has shrunk even further, with fellow day-one title The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion already having been dropped back to Q1 2007 by Bethesda Softworks.

Elsewhere, US retailers are listing the PS3 version of Vivendi Games' F.E.A.R. as down for February release - with representatives for the company having failed to get back to us about that one so far.

A platformer a RPG and a racing game...

well there's variety gone out the window.

What is shocking is how appalling FA2 looks. Well, at least on the footage they showed on Gamer.tv. It looked worse than the 360 version and just as broken. How it ever got reviews of 6+ was beyond me.

So what games are still going to be available at launch then? It must only be a handful now.

regarding sonic i think sega said something about wanting to work on the downloadable content or something like that. perhaps these delays in various games may be caused by developers needing more work on the online modes that sony aren't exactly helping them with. something to do with (from what i've read) their lacklustre libraries and support for developers as regards to the online service.

Thats assuming that it is still March. I wouldn't be at all surprised for Sony to announce after Christmas that Euro launch was delayed till Sept 07.

Well, since at least 2% of the consoles are sold without games it wouldn't harm sales, would it? ;)

As long as Genji's there, none of this matters.

I find it strange that Full Auto ever got a sequel. Unless they think they can get it right this time.

Full Auto 2 - the rehash with a number increment to a fairly mediocre Xbox 360 original - is also due out on PlayStation Portable, as announced on Friday.

Fixed.

You know it might be because Sega shifted their development teams from PS3 to Wii... ouch!

Hear, hear. I've no idea why it ever got a sequel either.

And quite frankly, if the PS3 version of Sonic plays anything like the 360 demo, it'll be pish as well.

Come on Sega...you can do better than this surely?!

Well those were bought by homeless Chinese immigrants, weren't they? You can imagine Phil "powder" Harrison or that fat idiot who actually runs Sony saying things like "Wow, we've really captured the desperate tramp demographic!" and green-lighting "Cardboard Box Fever" where you have to get back to your cardboard box home in a rain-soaked alleyway to watch your PS3 crash RR7 on your massive,_MASSIVE_ HDTV whilst avoiding being kicked to death by teenage thugs.

Who cares, noones going to be able to play them anyway. By the looks of it most of the consoles are going to miss the launch.

Deja vu. Though at least we had the console last time, if also the delays.
