A tilt sensor in a hand held would of made it a bit of a bitch to see the screen when you keep tilting it away from your eyes.

hmmm... it makes me wonder if the rumours are true if Sony took out tilt for the PSP.
If So then Sony were idiots. Actually, the rumours were that the original Mercury was going to bundle with a tilt sensing USB add-on. Which would not really work, because of how much the screen reflects ambient light. Think about it, how much fun would it be tilting your PSP around, if you can't even see what's going on in the screen? |

Awesome! This was one of the few games that made me consider buying a PSP (which I eventually never did), but now that it comes to Wii, I won't regret not getting a PSP twice!

Jesus guys. Most people look for reasons TO buy something, not for reasons NOT TO. Seriously, it's getting pathetic. Don't want a PSP? Don't get one, it's hardly a difficult decision.

There are already portable console games with tilt sensors built into the cartridges and they seem to play without problems. And if they set the tilt sensor to be sensitive enough the tilting can be achieved with very slight movements that wouldn't affect your view of the screen. |

Wouldn't be very portable then though. You would have to be very still while playing. No rocky bus or train rides for you. |

Is it just me, or do Wii screenies seem to show up faster than PS3/360 ones? Something to do with ease of development/getting something presentable running sooner maybe?
It's because they can advance production by using the already well-known GC devkit, and then refine details like graphics later on. |

Graphics on the first Mercury ok, at least the general design was in the right ballpark. The new cel-shaded look is utter bollocks (as was seen on the sequel this year). |

Mercury looks pretty good. It's interesting if they let you use the GC controller for it too. I wish there were more Wii games that would look at doing that.
Having watched the video of Metal Slug and all it's new fangled controls shoehorned into an old skool game, it just looks awful. I hope the Wii isn't just going to end up clogged up with stupid versions of games like that. |
